Germany's Emre Can vows to be fully fit for European Championship

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has pledged to be fully fit for Euro 2016.

The Germany international has been ruled out for four weeks with ruptured ligaments in his right ankle.

Liverpool's medical staff are hopeful the 22-year-old will recover in time for the Europa League final on May 18, should the club get past Villarreal in the last four.

Can himself is confident his injury will not affect his European Championship chances.

"I am a fighter and won't let anything get me down," he told the SID news agency in his homeland.

"I will give everything to try and be fit in time for the Euros and I am optimistic about achieving my goal."
