Euro 2016 draw: England to play Wales, Belgium drawn against Italy

England and Wales have been drawn together in the same group at Euro 2016, while Belgium and Italy will also meet in France next summer.

Wales are competing in only their second major finals, after qualifying for the 1958 World Cup. Gareth Bale's team will meet neighbours England in the second match of Group B, which takes place in Lens on Thursday, June 16. Russia and debutants Slovakia complete the group.

Belgium, currently world No. 1 in the FIFA Ranking, will take on Italy -- who lost to Spain in the final of Euro 2012 -- in Group E. Republic of Ireland and Sweden -- with 34-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing in what will surely be his last international tournament -- make up what looks like one of the toughest groups.

Hosts France will kick off the tournament against Romania in Saint-Denis on Friday, June 10, before also playing Albania and Switzerland in Group A.

Germany and Poland have been drawn together again, after filling the top two spots in their qualification group, along with Northern Ireland and Ukraine in Group C.

Holders Spain will play Czech Republic, Turkey and Croatia in Group D.

And finally Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal look to have been handed a favourable draw in Group F, alongside Austria, Hungary and Iceland.
