Gareth Bale set to play on 3G pitch for Wales in Andorra

Wales' opening Euro 2016 qualifier will go ahead on Andorra's 3G pitch next Tuesday after gaining UEFA approval.

Gareth Bale and his international colleagues will play on the pitch -- a "third generation" artificial surface -- after it was given the green light on Tuesday afternoon, the Welsh FA (FAW) confirmed.

The surface was subject to close inspection by officials from European football's governing body, who ruled the match could be played at the Andorra National Stadium in the small nation in the Pyrenees rather than be moved to nearby Barcelona.

Wales will look to begin their qualifying campaign in flying fashion, especially given the presence of Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey in manager Chris Coleman's squad.

Wales squad to face Andorra:

Goalkeepers: Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace), Kyle Letheren (Dundee), Owain Fon Williams (Tranmere Rovers)

Defenders: James Chester (Hull City), Ben Davies (Tottenham), Paul Dummett (Newcastle), Chris Gunter (Reading), Declan John (Cardiff), Samuel Ricketts (Wolves), Neil Taylor (Swansea/Dinas), Ashley Williams (Swansea)

Midfielders: Joe Allen (Liverpool) Emyr Huws (Wigan), Andy King (Leicester), Joe Ledley (Crystal Palace), Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal), David Vaughan (Nottingham Forest)

Forwards: Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Simon Church (Charlton), Tom Lawrence (Leicester), Jake Taylor (Reading), George Williams (Fulham), Jonathan Williams (Crystal Palace)
