UEFA takes action against Scotland and Poland after Euro 2016 qualifier

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against the Scottish Football Association for its handling of Thursday's Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland at Hampden Park.

The governing body listed "insufficient organisation," "field invasions by supporters" and "stairways blocked" among concerns that arose during the 2-2 draw.

Action is also being taken against the Polish Football Federation (PZPN) for offences including "kit infringement," "setting off and throwing of fireworks," "throwing of objects" and "crowd disturbances."

In addition to a young Scotland supporter entering the pitch during the second half to have a photo taken with Poland's Robert Lewandowksi, whose 94th-minute equaliser ended Scotland's hopes of reaching next summer's tournament, Poland fans were seen setting off flares in the away end.

Police Scotland confirmed that 21 arrests were made throughout the course of the match.

Each were for "minor disorders," with no major incidents reported, and the arrested included fans of each team.

The two associations will face a UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary committee hearing on Oct. 22.
