Gareth Bale named in Wales squad for crucial Euro 2016 qualifiers

CARDIFF, Wales -- Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has been named in the Wales squad for the decisive European Championship qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Andorra.

Bale, 26, has missed Real Madrid's last three games with a left calf injury but he is set to return against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

Wales coach Chris Coleman will be hoping Bale comes through the Madrid derby unscathed as his team requires only one point from its final two Euro 2016 qualifiers.

"If he's fit to meet up with us I will look to play him in Bosnia," Coleman told a news conference. "We need our strongest team on the pitch to get the result."

Wales, who travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina on Oct. 10 and host Andorra in Cardiff three days later, are looking to reach their first finals of a major tournament for 58 years.

"We need a point from two games and we want to take care of our own business," Coleman added. "We need another performance. We will try and win in Bosnia.

"The time is here. It's upon us. It's time to go and achieve."

Wales go into the upcoming international fixtures standing eighth in the latest FIFA Ranking, their highest ever position.
