Premier League and FA Cup team news: Injuries, suspensions update

SATURDAY'S FA CUP MATCHES

SWANSEA VS. TOTTENHAM

SWANSEA: Jordan Ayew misses Swansea's first FA Cup quarterfinal for 54 years through suspension. Ayew, Swansea's 10-goal top scorer, starts a three-game ban after being sent off at Huddersfield last weekend. Tammy Abraham is set to lead the attack with Andre Ayew cup-tied, while loan midfielder Andy King is also ineligible.

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Nordfeldt, Mulder, Naughton, Van der Hoorn, Fernandez, Mawson, Olsson, Ki, Carroll, Clucas, Abraham, Roberts, Bartley, Britton, Routledge, Narsingh, Dyer, James, Maric.

TOTTENHAM: Spurs will be without Harry Kane, who is beginning his recovery from an ankle ligament injury and will be out until next month, with Erik Lamela likely to replace him in Wales. Dele Alli and Danny Rose are fine after picking up knocks at Bournemouth while Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) could be considered after returning to training.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Gazzaniga, Trippier, Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Foyth, Sanchez, Davies, Rose, Dier, Winks, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Sissoko, Alli, Son, Moura, Lamela, Llorente.

MANCHESTER UNITED VS. BRIGHTON

MAN UNITED: Jose Mourinho has no fresh faces at his disposal as Manchester United take on Brighton in the FA Cup quarterfinals. Paul Pogba returned from a knock to feature in the Champions League last-16 second leg defeat to Sevilla, as did forward Anthony Martial. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been training with his United team-mates this week but Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Daley Blind remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Pereira, Valencia, Darmian, Shaw, Young, Lindelof, Smalling, Bailly, Matic, Carrick, Pogba, Fellaini, McTominay, Mata, Lingard, Martial, Sanchez, Rashford, Lukaku, Ibrahimovic.

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION: Brighton duo Gaetan Bong and Dale Stephens face late fitness tests. Full-back Bong limped off with a thigh problem during last weekend's loss at Everton, while midfielder Stephens was absent for that game due to a knock. Albion manager Chris Hughton is expected to name a strong starting XI at Old Trafford having rotated his squad for previous rounds. He will definitely be without suspended winger Anthony Knockaert, who was sent off at Goodison Park, and long-term injury absentee Steve Sidwell (ankle).

Provisional squad: Ryan, Krul, Maenpaa, Bruno, Schelotto, Bong, Suttner, Duffy, Dunk, Goldson, Hunemeier, Rosenior, Stephens, Propper, Kayal, Skalak, Izquierdo, March, Gross, Locadia, Ulloa, Murray, Hemed, Baldock.

SATURDAY'S PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHES

BOURNEMOUTH VS. WEST BROM

BOURNEMOUTH: Ryan Fraser and Josh King are among a number of injury doubts. Winger Fraser has not trained due to a back problem, while manager Eddie Howe is hopeful forward King should be available to play following a neck issue. Howe said a couple of unnamed players are also struggling with niggles, while defender Tyrone Mings continues his rehabilitation from a back problem.

Provisional squad: Begovic, Boruc, Francis, S Cook, Ake, A Smith, Daniels, Simpson, Gosling, L Cook, Surman, Arter, Pugh, Hyndman, Fraser, Stanislas, Ibe, Wilson, King, Defoe, Mousset.

WEST BROM: Premier League bottom side West Brom will again be without midfielder Gareth Barry (knee). Captain Jonny Evans could feature after overcoming illness while striker Daniel Sturridge (hamstring) and midfielder Nacer Chadli (thigh) are both expected back in training next week. Midfielder James Morrison continues to struggle with an Achilles injury.

Provisional squad: Foster, Myhill, Dawson, Nyom, Hegazi, Gibbs, Livermore, Krychowiak, Field, Brunt, Phillips, Rondon, Rodriguez, Burke, Robson-Kanu, Yacob, Evans, McAuley, McClean.

HUDDERSFIELD VS. CRYSTAL PALACE

HUDDERSFIELD: Danny Williams will be missing for Huddersfield but Elias Kachunga will return to David Wagner's squad. Midfielder Williams' season was ended by a fractured fibula he suffered in training this week, while Kachunga (knee) is back in the fold having not played since December. Terence Kongolo (hip) should be back after the international break and Michael Hefele (knee) is also missing.

Provisional squad: Lossl, Schindler, Jorgensen, Hadergjonaj, Hogg, Van La Parra, Mooy, Pritchard, Billing, Depoitre, Kachunga, Quaner, Ince, Mounie, Green, Smith, Malone, Lowe.

CRYSTAL PALACE: Palace have Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Yohan Cabaye and Mamadou Sakho back fit to start. The trio's return from injury and that of Wilfried Zaha last week as a second-half substitute at Chelsea means Palace's options are significantly strengthened ahead of a crucial fixture. Joel Ward, Julian Speroni, Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon, Bakary Sako and Connor Wickham remain long-term absentees.

Provisional squad: Hennessey, Cavalieri, Fosu-Mensah, Wan-Bissaka, Kelly, Delaney, Tomkins, Jach, Souare, Van Aanholt, Schlupp, Lee, McArthur, Cabaye, Rakip, Riedewald, Townsend, Milivojevic, Loftus-Cheek, Benteke, Sorloth

STOKE VS. EVERTON

STOKE: Striker Mame Biram Diouf could return. The Senegal international missed Monday's defeat to Manchester City after sustaining a shoulder injury in the previous game against Southampton but will be assessed ahead of the weekend. Forward Saido Berahino could also be in contention after building up his fitness levels but midfielder Stephen Ireland (calf) and goalkeeper Lee Grant (broken wrist) are out.

Provisional squad: Butland, Haugaard, Shawcross, Zouma, Martins Indi, Wimmer, Cameron, Bauer, Stafylidis, Pieters, Johnson, Fletcher, Allen, Adam, Ndiaye, Afellay, Shaqiri, Choupo-Moting, Sobhi, Jese, Berahino, Crouch, Campbell.

EVERTON: Everton winger Theo Walcott is fit after suffering cramp in last week's win over Brighton. Gylfi Sigurdsson has been ruled out for several weeks with a knee injury sustained in that fixture but fellow midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye returns after illness. Defender Ashley Williams serves the second match of a three-game ban for his red card at Burnley.

Provisional squad: Pickford, Robles, Coleman, Kenny, Martina, Jagielka, Keane, Baines, Holgate, Funes Mori, Gueye, Schneiderlin, Baningime, Klaassen, Rooney, Walcott, Davies, Bolasie, Tosun, Calvert-Lewin, Niasse.

LIVERPOOL VS. WATFORD

LIVERPOOL: Captain Jordan Henderson could make a return to the starting lineup. The England international was on the bench for last weekend's defeat at Manchester United but is likely to be brought back. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has to decide whether to retain Dejan Lovren in central defence after his performance at Old Trafford came in for criticism or replace him with Joel Matip.

Provisional squad: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Matip, Robertson, Henderson, Can, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Mignolet, Gomez, Lovren, Klavan, Moreno, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Milner, Solanke, Ings.

WATFORD: Defender Craig Cathcart will be back in contention following a hip problem. Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes could also return to the squad, having sat out last weekend's defeat at Arsenal. Midfielder Tom Cleverley (thigh) continues his rehabilitation, along with Gerard Deulofeu (foot), Nathaniel Chalobah (knee), Younes Kaboul (foot) and Isaac Success (knee).

Provisional squad: Karnezis, Prodl, Holebas, Janmaat, Mariappa, Kiko, Doucoure, Richarlison, Capoue, Pereyra, Deeney, Gomes, Britos, Hughes, Sinclair, Gray, Carrillo, Okaka, Cathcart.

SUNDAY'S FA CUP MATCHES

WIGAN VS. SOUTHAMPTON

SOUTHAMPTON: Southampton remain without the injured Charlie Austin and Steven Davis for the FA Cup quarterfinal. They will miss new manager Mark Hughes' first match in charge due to hamstring injuries. Hughes has spoken of the need to get his new team scoring goals regularly, so is expected to consider recalling forward Manolo Gabbiadini.

Provisional squad: McCarthy, Forster, Taylor, Cedric, Pied, Stephens, Hoedt, Bertrand, Yoshida, McQueen, Hojbjerg, Lemina, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Tadic, Boufal, Redmond, Long, Carrilo, Gabbiadini, Rose, Sims

LEICESTER VS. CHELSEA

LEICESTER: Boss Claude Puel is expected to have an unchanged squad for the FA Cup quarterfinal clash. Daniel Amartey will not return from his hamstring injury until after the international break, while Robert Huth continues to work his way back from the ankle problem that has blighted his campaign. Kelechi Iheanacho will hope to play, while the likes of Aleksander Dragovic, Christian Fuchs, Matty James and Marc Albrighton could also come into contention for recalls.

Provisional squad: Schmeichel, Hamer, Jakupovic, Maguire, Morgan, Fuchs, Simpson, Chilwell, Benalouane, Dragovic, James, Albrighton, Gray, Silva, Ndidi, Iborra, Choudhury, Vardy, Iheanacho, Diabate, Okazaki.

CHELSEA: Antonio Conte is poised to pick his first-choice line-up for Chelsea's FA Cup quarterfinal. Conte has rotated his options in previous rounds and could yet choose Willy Caballero as goalkeeper after Thibaut Courtois was twice beaten through the legs by Lionel Messi in Wednesday's loss at Barcelona. Defender David Luiz (ankle) and midfielder Ross Barkley (hamstring) are out.

Provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Kante, Morata, Hazard, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Giroud, Zappacosta, Willian, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Palmieri, Scott, Eduardo, Ampadu, Sterling, Hudson-Odoi.
