Premier League weekend team news: Injuries and suspensions update

SATURDAY'S GAMES

ARSENAL VS. NEWCASTLE

ARSENAL: The Gunners will be without injured duo Aaron Ramsey, who injured his hamstring in last weekend's 1-1 draw at Southampton, and Theo Walcott (groin) is also sidelined, although the Gunners could welcome back Shkodran Mustafi as the defender is back in training following a thigh complaint. Arsene Wenger is likely to bring Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette back into his starting line-up after they were rested at West Ham, but Santi Cazorla (ankle) remains absent.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Mertesacker, Holding, Mustafi, Koscielny, Chambers, Monreal, Debuchy, Bellerin, Nelson, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Wilshere, Xhaka, Elneny, Ozil, Iwobi, Sanchez, Welbeck, Lacazette, Giroud.

NEWCASTLE: Rafael Benitez will be without midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who starts a two-match ban after being sent off for the second time this season. Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic will also sit out with a back problem, but full-back Paul Dummett is available for the first time since the opening day of the campaign following a hamstring injury.

Provisional squad: Darlow, Elliot, Yedlin, Manquillo, Mbemba, Dummett, Haidara, Lascelles, Clark, Lejeune, Merino, Hayden, Saivet, Ritchie, Atsu, Murphy, Aarons, Diame, Perez, Joselu, Gayle.

BRIGHTON VS. BURNLEY

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION:  Chris Hughton has no new injury concerns following the midweek defeat at Tottenham, with midfielder Steve Sidwell (back) still the only absentee. Pascal Gross and Glenn Murray are set to return to the starting lineup having dropped to the bench against Spurs.

Provisional squad: Ryan, Bong, Bruno, Duffy, Dunk, Brown, Propper, Knockaert, Stephens, Murray, Gross, Krul, Goldson, Schelotto, March, Izquierdo, Kayal, Hemed, Baldock.

BURNLEY: The Clarets will welcome back Matt Lowton and Ben Mee (both knee) for the trip to Brighton but are still unsure about fellow defender Stephen Ward's availability. Charlie Taylor may be handed his first Premier League start if Ward misses out, with Robbie Brady (knee), Tom Heaton (shoulder), Dean Marney and Jonathan Walters (both knee) still missing.

Provisional squad: Pope, Lindegaard, Long, Mee, Taylor, Ward, Tarkowski, Bardsley, Defour, Ulvestad, Hendrick, Cork, Westwood, Arfield, Gudmundsson, Vokes, Barnes, Wood, Wells.

CHELSEA VS. SOUTHAMPTON

CHELSEA: Alvaro Morata is available again after he missed Tuesday's win at Huddersfield through fatigue and with a back problem. Defender David Luiz is continuing his rehabilitation from inflammation on his knee and remains out.

Provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Kante, Morata, Hazard, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Kenedy, Zappacosta, Willian, Batshuayi, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Clarke-Salter, Sterling, Eduardo, Ampadu.

SOUTHAMPTON: Mauricio Pellegrino has a fully fit squad to choose from. Cedric Soares came through unscathed against Leicester on Wednesday after returning from a hamstring injury and is likely to keep his place. But Pellegrino has suggested he will make changes at Stamford Bridge as Saints look to bounce back from their humiliating 4-1 defeat to the Foxes.

Provisional squad: Forster, McCarthy, Taylor, Soares, Hoedt, Stephens, Yoshida, Van Dijk, Bertrand, Gardos, Pied, McQueen, Romeu, Lemina, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Davis, Boufal, Tadic, Redmond, Austin, Long, Gabbiadini.

STOKE VS. WEST HAM

STOKE: Stoke will be without Kurt Zouma after he limped out of the midweek defeat at Burnley with a hamstring injury. Defender Bruno Martins Indi (groin) and full-back Glen Johnson (knee) are also unavailable. Jese is expected to return next week after travelling to Gran Canaria to be with his ill son and midfielder Stephen Ireland continues his recovery from a double leg fracture.

Provisional Squad: Butland, Cameron, Pieters, Shawcross, Wimmer, Shaqiri, Allen, Fletcher, Sobhi, Crouch, Biram Diouf, Grant, Tymon, Adam, Berahino, Edwards, Afellay, Choupo-Moting

WEST HAM: The Hammers will be without Winston Reid through suspension. Cheikhou Kouyate is back in training following a hamstring injury, so could be in line for a return while forward Edimilson Fernandes will be assessed on an ankle problem and defender Jose Fonte (ankle) also continues his rehabilitation.

Provisional Squad: Adrian, Masuaku, Zabaleta, Collins, Cresswell, Noble, Lanzini, Obiang, Ogbonna, Arnautovic, Antonio, Hart, Carroll, Kouyate, Ayew, Sakho, Rice, Hernandez.

WATFORD VS. HUDDERSFIELD

WATFORD: Richarlison has been passed fit to start, but Kiko Femenia misses out because of an injured hamstring. The Brazilian forward was substituted at Crystal Palace owing to fatigue but is available to strengthen a squad weakened by the absence of Will Hughes (hamstring). Younes Kaboul, Nathaniel Chalobah and Craig Cathcart (all knee). Tom Cleverley and Marvin Zeegelaar are suspended.

Provisional squad: Gomes, Karnezis, Bachmann, Mariappa, Kabasele, Wague, Holebas, Deeney, Britos, Janmaat, Prodl, Doucoure, Capoue, Watson, Carrillo, Pereyra, Richarlison, Gray, Okaka.

HUDDERSFIELD: Chelsea loanee Kasey Palmer is available again after missing the midweek defeat to his parent club because he was ineligible. Wagner has previously admitted he likes to rotate his squad and he may decide to freshen things up after the 3-1 home loss to the Blues.

Provisional squad: Lossl, Coleman, Malone, Cranie, Schindler, Jorgensen, Hadergjonaj, Smith, Lowe, Hefele, Williams, Whitehead, Hogg, Mooy, Ince, Kachunga, Van La Parra, Palmer, Quaner, Depoitre, Mounie.

MAN CITY VS. TOTTENHAM

MAN CITY: Vincent Kompany is unlikely to return after he missed the midweek trip to Swansea with an unspecified muscle problem. Former Spurs right-back Kyle Walker and winger Leroy Sane are set to return after being rested but defenders John Stones (hamstring) and Benjamin Mendy (knee) are still out.

Provisional squad: Ederson, Bravo, Walker, Danilo, Otamendi, Mangala, Delph, Zinchenko, Toure, Gundogan, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, D Silva, B Silva, Sterling, Sane, Aguero, Jesus.

TOTTENHAM: Dele Alli is likely to be recalled after being rested for the win over Brighton in midweek but Davinson Sanchez remains suspended as he serves the last part of a three-match ban. Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) and Victor Wanyama (knee) both remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Gazzaniga, Rose, Davies, Walker-Peters, Vertonghen, Dier, Foyth, Trippier, Aurier, Winks, Amos, Sissoko, Dembele, Alli, Eriksen, Son, Lamela, Llorente, Sterling, Kane.

SUNDAY'S GAMES

WEST BROM VS. MAN UNITED

WEST BROM: Gareth Barry could return after shrugging off a thigh problem. Matt Phillips (hamstring) and Craig Dawson (knee) are close to a comeback but remain doubts. Nacer Chadli (hip) and James Morrison (Achilles) are definitely out for Alan Pardew at The Hawthorns.

Provisional squad: Foster, Myhill, Palmer, Hegazi, McAuley, Evans, Nyom, Dawson, Gibbs, Brunt, Field, Livermore, Phillips, Krychowiak, Barry, Burke, Yacob, Phillips, McClean, Robson-Kanu, Rondon, Rodriguez.

MAN UNITED: Paul Pogba completes his three-game ban. Eric Bailly, meanwhile, could be out for as long as three months after ankle surgery and there are questions over Marouane Fellaini and Marcos Rojo. Michael Carrick remains out but Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera and Ashley Young may start after being named on the bench against Bournemouth in midweek.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Valencia, Darmian, Tuanzebe, Young, Shaw, Blind, Rojo, Smalling, Lindelof, Jones, Matic, Herrera, McTominay, Fellaini, Lingard, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Rashford, Lukaku, Ibrahimovic.

BOURNEMOUTH VS. LIVERPOOL

BOURNEMOUTH: The Cherries have scored just once in their last three Premier League games and boss Eddie Howe must find the right combination from Josh King, Callum Wilson, Jermain Defoe and Benik Afobe. Brad Smith (hip), Adam Federici and Tyrone Mings (both back) are out, with Steve Cook and Harry Arter one caution away from suspension.

Provisional Squad: Begovic, S Cook, Francis, Ake, Daniels, Surman, L Cook, Fraser, Stanislas, Defoe, King, Boruc, B Smith, Simpson, Gosling, Arter, Afobe, Ibe, Wilson, A Smith

LIVERPOOL: Simon Mignolet is set to return to Liverpool's starting XI and Adam Lallana could also be involved in the contest at the Vitality Stadium. Joe Gomez, James Milner and Andrew Robertson are expected to be fit after knocks. Daniel Sturridge (hamstring) remains a doubt, and Alberto Moreno (ankle), Joel Matip (adductor) and Nathaniel Clyne (back) are still unavailable. Emre Can serves a one-match suspension.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Klavan, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Karius, Gomez, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Solanke, Ings, Sturrid

MONDAY'S GAME

EVERTON VS. SWANSEA

EVERTON: Yannick Bolasie could make his return to Everton's matchday squad after being out of action for just over a year due to a knee injury. James McCarthy (hamstring) and Leighton Baines (calf) remain unavailable, along with Ross Barkley (hamstring), Ramiro Funes Mori (knee) and Seamus Coleman (broken leg).

Provisional squad: Pickford, Kenny, Williams, Holgate, Martina, Gueye, Schneiderlin, Lennon, Rooney, Sigurdsson, Calvert-Lewin, Robles, Jagielka, Keane, Baningime, Besic, Vlasic, Mirallas, Bolasie, Klaassen, Davies, Niasse, Sandro, Lookman.

SWANSEA: Wilfried Bony will be fit despite coming off in the closing stages of Wednesday's 4-0 home defeat to Manchester City with muscle tightness. But he has shown no after-effects of that since the City game and, with Wayne Routledge fit again, Swansea are at full-strength apart from the continued absence of Kyle Bartley (knee ligaments).

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Van der Hoorn, Mawson, Olsson, Mesa, Ki, Carroll, Dyer, Ayew, Bony, Abraham, Nordfeldt, Rangel, Clucas, Britton, Sanches, Fer, Narsingh, Fulton, Routledge, McBurnie.
