Premier League weekend team news: Injuries and suspensions update

WEDNESDAY'S GAMES

ARSENAL vs. HUDDERSFIELD TOWN

ARSENAL: Arsenal will be hopeful Mesut Ozil overcomes illness to be involved in Wednesday's Premier League visit of Huddersfield. The Germany international missed the 1-0 win at Burnley on Sunday but was expected to train on Tuesday in an attempt to be available. Alex Iwobi (leg) is definitely missing, as is long-term injury absentee Santi Cazorla (ankle) but they are Arsene Wenger's only two sidelined players.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Mertesacker, Holding, Koscielny, Mustafi, Chambers, Monreal, Debuchy, Bellerin, Nelson, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Ramsey, Wilshere, Xhaka, Elneny, Ozil, Walcott, Sanchez, Welbeck, Lacazette, Giroud.

HUDDERSFIELD: Huddersfield will be without suspended winger Rajiv Van la Parra for their Premier League game at Arsenal. Van la Parra starts a three-match ban following his red card in Sunday's home defeat to Manchester City, but head coach David Wagner has no new selection problems. Kasey Palmer is closing in on his return from a long-term hamstring injury but will not be involved at the Emirates Stadium, while Philip Billing (ankle), Michael Hefele (Achilles) and Jon Gorenc Stankovic (knee) are still out.

Provisional squad: Lossl, Green, Coleman, Malone, Cranie, Schindler, Jorgensen, Hadergjonaj, Smith, Lowe, Williams, Hogg, Mooy, Ince, Kachunga, Sabiri, Quaner, Depoitre, Mounie.

BOURNEMOUTH vs. BURNLEY

BOURNEMOUTH: Bournemouth will have captain Simon Francis available again following a one-match ban for the visit of Burnley. Striker Jermain Defoe (calf) and midfielder Junior Stanislas (groin) both missed Saturday's goalless draw at Swansea. Defenders Brad Smith (hip) and Tyrone Mings (back) continue their rehabilitation.

Provisional squad: Begovic, Daniels, S Cook, Francis, Ake, Ibe, Surman, Arter, Pugh, King, Wilson, Boruc, A Smith, L Cook, Simpson, Fraser, Gosling, Afobe, Mousset, Defoe, Stanislas.

BURNLEY: Burnley's ever-present back four could see its first change of the Premier League season, with Matt Lowton a doubt for the trip to Bournemouth. Lowton took a knock against Arsenal on Sunday and will be assessed, with Phil Bardsley ready to step in at right-back in required. Chris Wood could return in place of Ashley Barnes up front but Dean Marney, Jon Walters (both knee) and Tom Heaton (shoulder) all remain out.

Provisional squad: Pope, Lindegaard, Lowton, Long, Mee, Taylor, Ward, Tarkowski, Bardsley, Defour, Brady, Ulvestad, Hendrick, Cork, Westwood, Arfield, Gudmunsson, Vokes, Barnes, Wood, Wells.

CHELSEA vs. SWANSEA CITY

CHELSEA: Defender David Luiz is out of Chelsea's Premier League clash with Swansea on Wednesday with a knee injury. Luiz lost his place to Andreas Christensen and was an unused substitute in last Saturday's draw at Liverpool, with the full extent of his injury yet to be known. Right wing-back Victor Moses could start as Antonio Conte contemplates rotating his options, while striker Michy Batshuayi (ankle), forward Charly Musonda (knee) and the left-sided Kenedy (undisclosed) are out.

Provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Kante, Morata, Hazard, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Zappacosta, Willian, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Clarke-Salter, Sterling, Eduardo, Ampadu.

SWANSEA: Swansea are without Tammy Abraham at Stamford Bridge as the on-loan Chelsea striker cannot play against his parent club. Federico Fernandez remains in his native Argentina following the death of his father and Dutch defender Mike van der Hoorn will continue to deputise. Kyle Bartley (knee ligaments) remains out with Swansea boss Paul Clement short on defensive options.

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Naughton, Van der Hoorn, Mawson, Olsson, Mesa, Ki, Carroll, Ayew, Sanches, Bony, Nordtfeldt, Rangel, Clucas, Britton, Fer, Dyer, Narsingh, Fulton, Routledge, McBurnie.

EVERTON vs. WEST HAM UNITED

EVERTON: Everton duo Leighton Baines and Michael Keane are likely to sit out Wednesday's Premier League home clash with West Ham after both came off with injuries at Southampton on Sunday. Fellow defender Mason Holgate (groin), who has missed the last three matches, will be assessed ahead of the contest at Goodison Park. Oumar Niasse is unavailable as he completes his two-match suspension, but Tom Davies can be called upon again having served his one-game ban.

Provisional squad: Pickford, Robles, Williams, Jagielka, Kenny, Martina, Gueye, Davies, Baningime, Besic, Schneiderlin, Mirallas, Lennon, Lookman, Vlasic, Sigurdsson, Klaassen, Rooney, Calvert-Lewin, Sandro.

WEST HAM: David Moyes is set to take an unchanged West Ham squad to his former club Everton. Marko Arnautovic should be available despite limping off towards the end of Friday night's 1-1 draw with Leicester. Javier Hernandez, Michail Antonio (both hamstring) and James Collins (ankle) are not quite ready to return and Jose Fonte (ankle) is out until the new year.

Provisional squad: Hart, Adrian, Reid, Zabaleta, Kouyate, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Rice, Fernandes, Noble, Obiang, Lanzini, Ayew, Masuaku, Quina, Arnautovic, Carroll, Sakho.

MANCHESTER CITY vs. SOUTHAMPTON

MAN CITY: Manchester City remain without defenders John Stones and Benjamin Mendy for the visit of Southampton in the Premier League on Wednesday. Centre-back Stones (hamstring) is likely to be out until the end of December while Mendy (knee) is not expected to play again until April. Eliaquim Mangala is in contention to play in central defence if captain Vincent Kompany, only recently returned from a hamstring injury, is rested.

Provisional squad: Ederson, Bravo, Walker, Danilo, Otamendi, Kompany, Mangala, Delph, Zinchenko, Toure, Gundogan, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Sterling, Sane, D Silva, B Silva, Aguero, Jesus.

SOUTHAMPTON: Southampton will welcome central midfielder Oriol Romeu back from suspension for Wednesday's Premier League trip to leaders Manchester City. The Spaniard sat out Sunday's 4-1 success over Everton after being handed a one-game ban for picking up five yellow cards. Fellow midfielder Mario Lemina returned from an ankle problem as a second-half substitute against the Toffees and came through unscathed, but defender Matt Targett (leg) remains sidelined.

Provisional squad: Forster, McCarthy, Taylor, Cedric, Hoedt, Stephens, Yoshida, Van Dijk, Bertrand, Gardos, Pied, McQueen, Romeu, Lemina, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Davis, Boufal, Tadic, Redmond, Austin, Long, Gabbiadini.

STOKE CITY vs. LIVERPOOL

STOKE: Stoke's Ramadan Sobhi is expected to be fit for the Premier League clash with Liverpool on Wednesday. The winger sustained a knock to the ankle in Saturday's 2-1 loss at Crystal Palace but boss Mark Hughes has said he should be fine to be involved when the Reds visit the bet365 Stadium. Hughes has also said Saido Berahino, who was left out of the matchday 18 at the weekend, is in his thoughts for this contest. Geoff Cameron (concussion) and Jack Butland (finger) remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: Grant, Haugaard, Zouma, Wimmer, Shawcross, Martins Indi, Johnson, Pieters, Diouf, Edwards, Tymon, Fletcher, Allen, Adam, Afellay, Jese, Shaqiri, Choupo-Moting, Sobhi, Berahino, Crouch, Ngoy.

LIVERPOOL: Liverpool forwards Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are set to return for the trip to Stoke after being rested for Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge, their two replacements at the weekend, look most likely to miss out while Georginio Wijnaldum could come back into midfield at the expense of James Milner. Emre Can has recovered from a muscular injury and will rejoin the squad but a late decision will be made on defender Dejan Lovren.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Klavan, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Karius, Gomez, Robertson, Milner, Can, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Sturridge.
