Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil back for Arsenal; Wayne Rooney starts

Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez both start for Arsenal against Everton as Arsene Wenger names arguably his strongest attacking lineup for the first time this season.

Sanchez returns after being rested following the disappointment of Chile missing out on the World Cup, while Ozil was only a substitute last weekend after recovering from a knee inflammation.

It is the first time the duo starts alongside summer signing Alexandre Lacazette, who was benched against Liverpool -- the only other game Ozil and Sanchez both started in.

Aaron Ramsey also returns after sitting out the Watford loss last weekend following Wales' failure to reach the World Cup, while Granit Xhaka retained his place despite being heavily criticised after that game.

Arsenal are looking to secure their first Premier League away win of the season to stay nine points behind leaders Manchester City.

For Everton, Wayne Rooney returns to the starting lineup after missing the Europa League defeat to Lyon altogether on Thursday.

Jonjoe Kenny also comes into the Everton side in place of Mason Holgate.

Everton starting XI: Pickford, Keane, Jagielka, Williams, Kenny, Gueye, Sigurdsson, Baines, Vlasic, Calvert-Lewin, Rooney.

Everton substitutes: Robles, Mirallas, Martina, Niasse, Klaassen, Davies, Lookman.

Arsenal starting XI: Cech, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Bellerin, Ramsey, Xhaka, Kolasinac, Ozil, Sanchez, Lacazette.

Arsenal substitutes: Macey, Holding, Coquelin, Wilshere, Iwobi, Walcott Giroud.
