Premier League weekend team news: Injuries and suspensions update

SATURDAY'S GAMES

HUDDERSFIELD vs. TOTTENHAM

HUDDERSFIELD: Huddersfield head coach David Wagner will select from an unchanged squad. Wagner has no new injury concerns following last week's goalless draw at Burnley, but club record signing Steve Mounie (foot) is still out having missed the last three games. Fellow striker Collin Quaner (knee), plus midfielders Kasey Palmer (hamstring) and Danny Williams (foot) remain sidelined.

Provisional squad: Lossl, Smith, Schindler, Lowe, Jorgensen, Ince, Hogg, Billing, Sabiri, Van La Parra, Mooy, Kachunga, Hadergjona, Depoitre, Malone, Green, Hefele, Whitehead.

TOTTENHAM: Christian Eriksen has recovered from illness and is available but Serge Aurier is suspended. Eriksen, who missed Tuesday's Champions League win over Apoel Nicosia, is expected to return but Aurier will sit the game out after his red card against West Ham. Mousa Dembele remains sidelined with an ankle injury while Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama are both still missing with knee problems. Erik Lamela is also out as he continues to recover from an injury to his hips.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Gazzaniga, Davies, Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Foyth, Trippier, Aurier, Dier, Sissoko, Georgiou, Oakley-Boothe, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Llorente, Kane.

BOURNEMOUTH vs. LEICESTER

BOURNEMOUTH: Bournemouth look set to be without midfielder Harry Arter again because of an Achilles problem. Dan Gosling is also a doubt after taking a heavy knock towards the end of the defeat at Everton and will be assessed. Defender Tyrone Mings has a back problem, while forward Callum Wilson has resumed some training following his long-term knee injury.

Provisional squad: Begovic, A Smith, Daniels, Francis, Ake, Surman, Ibe, Gosling, Stanislas, King, Defoe, Ramsdale, Pugh, Fraser, L Cook, S Cook, Afobe, Mousset

LEICESTER: Leicester are keeping an eye on the fitness of Jamie Vardy ahead of their trip to Bournemouth. The striker has been managing a hip problem and only trained for the first time this week on Thursday but is expected to be available against the Cherries. Defender Robert Huth, who underwent ankle surgery in the summer, and midfielder Matty James (Achilles) remain out.

Provisional squad: Schmeichel, Jakupovic, Hamer, Simpson, Fuchs, Morgan, Chilwell, Maguire, Dragovic, Wasilewski, Benalouane, Iborra, Ndidi, Amartey, Gray, Albrighton, Mahrez, Musa, Vardy, Ulloa, Slimani, Okazaki, Iheanacho.

WEST BROM vs. WATFORD

WEST BROM: West Brom boss Tony Pulis is likely to have an unchanged squad. Nacer Chadli (thigh) and Oliver Burke (hamstring) have resumed training but are lacking match sharpness and Pulis hopes the pair can step up their fitness during the international break. Pulis has options should he wish to make changes, with the likes of James Morrison, James McClean, Matt Phillips and Salomon Rondon ready to come into the team.

Provisional squad: Foster, Myhill, Nyom, Evans, Dawson, McAuley, Yuning, Hegazi, Gibbs, Brunt, Yacob, Morrison, Field, McClean, Barry, Rondon, Rodriguez, Burke, Robson-Kanu, Krychowiak.

WATFORD: Watford will have defender Miguel Britos available again following a three-match suspension. Midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah faces a spell on the sidelines after it was confirmed he needed surgery on a knee injury. Defender Sebastian Prodl (thigh) is stepping up his rehabilitation, but Younes Kaboul (hamstring) is not expected back until after the international break. Craig Cathcart and forward Mauro Zarate continue their recovery from knee problems.

Provisional squad: Gomes, Holebas, Kabasele, Britos, Mariappa, Femenia, Carrillo, Richarlison, Cleverley, Doucoure, Capoue, Gray, Karnezis, Deeney, Wague, Pereyra, Janmaat, Success, Watson

WEST HAM vs. SWANSEA

WEST HAM: Manuel Lanzini and Michail Antonio are in the squad. Lanzini is fit after a month out with a knee injury and Antonio has shrugged off the groin problem which forced him off against Tottenham last weekend. Pedro Obiang is still missing with a muscle injury and James Collins has ankle trouble.

Provisional squad: Hart, Adrian, Zabaleta, Byram, Masuaku, Cresswell, Reid, Ogbonna, Fonte, Rice, Kouyate, Noble, Lanzini, Arnautovic, Antonio, Ayew, Carroll, Sakho, Hernandez.

SWANSEA: Swansea skipper Leon Britton is under consideration. The veteran's only appearance this season came on the opening day at Southampton but he has now made a full recovery from a knee injury as head coach Paul Clement considers his midfield options. On-loan Renato Sanches and Tammy Abraham could also return as Ki Sung-yueng (knee) and Nathan Dyer (Achilles) prepare to build their fitness in an under-23 game against Celtic.

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Van der Hoorn, Mawson, Olsson, Clucas, Carroll, Ayew, Abraham, Bony, Sanches, Nordfeldt, Rangel, Britton, Mesa, Fer, Fulton, Narsingh, Routledge, McBurnie.

STOKE vs. SOUTHAMPTON

STOKE: Mark Hughes will be hampered by defensive injuries again. Bruno Martins Indi (groin) is the latest absentee, while Ryan Shawcross (back) is also missing and both Geoff Cameron and Kevin Wimmer (both hamstring) are rated doubtful. Hughes does have Kurt Zouma back after the Frenchman was ineligible to face his parent club last weekend and full-backs Glen Johnson and Erik Pieters are also options to play centrally again.

Provisional squad: Butland, Grant, Zouma, Wimmer, Johnson, Pieters, Souttar, Diouf, Tymon, Allen, Fletcher, Adam, Afellay, Jese, Shaqiri, Choupo-Moting, Sobhi, Berahino, Crouch.

SOUTHAMPTON: Virgil van Dijk could remain on the bench. Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino insists the Holland defender must remain patient on his reintegration after failing in his bid to force a summer move to Liverpool. Pellegrino could be able to select from strength for Saturday's Stoke visit, with Matt Targett working hard to shake off ankle trouble.

Provisional squad: Forster, McCarthy, Stephens, Bertrand, Targett, McQueen, Soares, Pied, Yoshida, Hoedt, Van Dijk, Bednarek, Davis, Hojbjerg, Tadic, Romeu, Redmond, Ward-Prowse, Lemina, Long, Boufal, Austin, Gabbiadini.

MAN UNITED vs. CRYSTAL PALACE

MAN UNITED: Jose Mourinho expects Manchester United to be without several players. Michael Carrick joins Paul Pogba, Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the sidelines, while Phil Jones and Antonio Valencia will be assessed having missed the midweek Champions League trip to CSKA Moscow. Maroaune Fellaini also missed the match in Russia with an ankle injury that is still under assessment, while Anthony Martial went off in the 4-1 win in Russia.

Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Pereira, Valencia, Darmian, Lindelof, Bailly, Jones, Smalling, Blind, Shaw, Young, Fellaini, Matic, Herrera, McTominay, Mata, Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial.

CRYSTAL PALACE: Rookie forward Freddie Ladapo could solve Crystal Palace's striker crisis. The 24-year-old is Palace's only fit recognised striker after Christian Benteke was ruled out for at least six weeks with knee trouble. Former Wolves winger Bakary Sako could be pressed into service as a makeshift striker. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has a thigh problem, and James Tomkins is ill.

Provisional squad: Hennessey, Speroni, Riedewald, Dann, Delaney, Fosu-Mensah, Kelly, Ward, Sakho, Lee, McArthur, Cabaye, Milivojevic, Mutch, Puncheon, Sako, Schlupp, Souare, Kaikai, Townsend, Van Aanholt, Ladapo.

CHELSEA vs. MAN CITY

CHELSEA: Eden Hazard is expected to start in the Premier League for the first time this season. Defender David Luiz completes his three-match domestic suspension for his dismissal against Arsenal, with Andreas Christensen poised to deputise. Midfielder Danny Drinkwater (calf) is the only definite injury absentee.

Provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Kante, Morata, Hazard, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Kenedy, Musonda, Zappacosta, Willian, Batshuayi, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Clarke-Salter, Scott, Eduardo.

MAN CITY: Leaders Manchester City will be without Sergio Aguero after the striker suffered rib injuries in a car crash on Thursday. Left-back Benjamin Mendy is a long-term casualty after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament in last week's 5-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace. Captain Vincent Kompany, who has missed the last six games, remains on the sidelines with a calf injury.

Provisional squad: Ederson, Bravo, Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Mangala, Danilo, Delph, Toure, Gundogan, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Sterling, Sane, D Silva, B Silva, Foden, Diaz, Jesus.

Sunday's games

ARSENAL vs. BRIGHTON

ARSENAL: Arsenal are expected to revert to a full-strength team for Sunday's visit of Brighton. Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Granit Xhaka, Alexandre Lacazette, Sead Kolasinac, Hector Bellerin, Petr Cech and Nacho Monreal were all rested for Thursday's Europa League fixture at BATE Borisov. They are all likely to be recalled, particularly with Calum Chambers, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck, Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla all still absent through injury.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Macey, Koscielny, Mustafi, Mertesacker, Holding, Monreal, Kolasinac, Bellerin, Debuchy, Elneny, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles, Ramsey, Wilshire, Ozil, Walcott, Sanchez, Lacazette, Giroud, Akpom.

BRIGHTON: Brighton will be without Tomer Hemed, who starts a three-match ban. Sam Baldock is still missing with a calf problem but Glenn Murray has an outside chance of being involved after an ankle injury. Steve Sidwell is recovering from back surgery and Beram Kayal is a long-term absentee having broken his leg.

Provisional squad: Krul, Maenpaa, Ryan, Schelotto, Hunemeier, Bruno, Dunk, Duffy, Goldson, Rosenior, Suttner, Bong, Ahannach, Brown, Hutchinson, March, Stephens, Skalak, Propper, Knockaert, Izquierdo, Gross, Murphy, Murray.

EVERTON vs. BURNLEY

EVERTON: Everton will assess centre-backs Michael Keane (foot) and Phil Jagielka (hamstring). Oumar Niasse, who has netted three times in his last two appearances, is set to return having missed the 2-2 Europa League draw with Apollon Limassol on Thursday as he was not included in the Toffees' squad for the group stage of the competition. Wayne Rooney injured his hand in that match but, with a subsequent scan showing no fracture, has been passed fit to play on Sunday, while boss Ronald Koeman has said James McCarthy (knee) needs Under-23s game time before he makes his first-team comeback.

Provisional squad: Pickford, Stekelenburg, Williams, Keane, Jagielka, Holgate, Martina, Kenny, Baines, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Besic, Klaassen, Sigurdsson, Rooney, Davies, Vlasic, Lookman, Mirallas, Lennon, Sandro, Calvert-Lewin, Niasse.

BURNLEY: Jon Walters and Nahki Wells will again sit out. Walters continues to struggle with a knee problem while Wells is yet to make his debut for the Clarets because of an ankle injury but is now working with the squad. The same is true of midfielder Dean Marney, who has been sidelined since January after rupturing knee ligaments.

Provisional squad: Pope, Legzdins, Lowton, Long, Mee, Taylor, Ward, Tarkowski, Bardsley, Defour, Brady, Ulvestad, Hendrick, Cork, Westwood, Arfield, Gudmundsson, Vokes, Agyei, Barnes, Wood.

LIVERPOOL vs. NEWCASTLE

LIVERPOOL: Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is set to start after returning from a domestic suspension. Midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum could face his former club at the expense of Emre Can after an indifferent performance in the Champions League in midweek. Midfielder Adam Lallana (thigh) is running outside again but is still several weeks from a comeback while right-back Nathaniel Clyne is also recovering well from a back injury.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Gomez, Lovren, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Klavan, Robertson, Milner, Grujic, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sturridge, Solanke.

NEWCASTLE: Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is available after suspension. The Serbia international has missed the last three games after being found guilty - on video evidence - of violent conduct during the 3-0 victory over West Ham. Florian Lejeune returns to contention after shaking off an ankle injury, but manager Rafael Benitez otherwise has no fresh injury concerns with only fellow defenders Paul Dummett (hamstring) and Massadio Haidara (knee) missing.

Provisional squad: Elliot, Darlow, Woodman, Yedlin, Manquillo, Mbemba, Gamez, Lascelles, Clark, Lejeune, Hayden, Merino, Shelvey, Saivet, Ritchie, Atsu, Murphy, Aarons, Diame, Perez, Gayle, Joselu, Mitrovic.
