Premier League weekend team news: Injuries and suspensions update

SATURDAY'S GAMES

- SOUTHAMPTON

Southampton manager Claude Puel is expected to make changes to the team that on Tuesday lost 4-2 at Chelsea as he continues with his favoured rotation policy. He has been boosted by the return to fitness of Sam McQueen, though the left-back is not expected to make an instant return to the starting XI. Matt Targett and Charlie Austin also returned to training this week, but will not be ready for Saturday's fixture. Virgil van Dijk (foot) and Alex McCarthy (hamstring) remain absent.

Provisional squad: Forster, Taylor, Cedric, Martina, Pied, Yoshida, Stephens, Caceres, Bertrand, McQueen, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Davis, Clasie, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Boufal, Redmond, Rodriguez, Long, Gabbiadini.

- HULL CITY

Hull manager Marco Silva is boosted by the availability of striker Oumar Niasse after the striker had his suspension rescinded. niasse was shown a straight red card in the win over Watford, but it has been subsequently overturned following an appeal from the club, and the striker is likely to retain his place in the side. Defender Omar Elabdellaoui remains absent with a back problem and may not play again this season, while Ryan Mason, Moses Odubajo and Will Keane remain absent with long-term injuries.

Provisional squad: Jakupovic, Marshall, Robertson, Davies, Dawson, Maguire, Ranocchia, Elmohamady, Huddlestone, Evandro, Maloney, Henriksen, Grosicki, Hernandez, Diomande, N'Diaye, Clucas, Markovic, Niasse, Mbokani.

- STOKE CITY

Jon Walters is a doubt as he continues to struggle with a knee problem. The forward missed last weekend's defeat by Swansea and has not been able to train much this week. Jack Butland will keep his place in goal after making his return from 13 months out with ankle problems at Swansea.

Provisional squad: Grant, Butland, Shawcross, Martins Indi, Johnson, Pieters, Bardsley, Muniesa, Cameron, Whelan, Adam, Imbula, Allen, Shaqiri, Arnautovic, Sobhi, Walters, Crouch, Berahino, Diouf, Bony.

- WEST HAM UNITED

West Ham striker Andy Carroll is still ruled out with a groin injury. Boss Slaven Bilic also has doubts over Cheikhou Kouyate, Winston Reid, Arthur Masuaku and Diafra Sakho following last weekend's goalless draw with Everton. But skipper Mark Noble and right-back Sam Byram return to the squad after suspension, while wingers Robert Snodgrass and Sofiane Feghouli should be fit.

Provisional squad: Adrian, Randolph, Byram, Fonte, Reid, Collins, Cresswell, Masuaku, Noble, Kouyate, Fernandes, Nordtveit, Rice, Makasi, Snodgrass, Feghouli, Lanzini, Ayew, Fletcher, Calleri, Sakho, Holland.

- SUNDERLAND

Sunderland boss David Moyes will make late checks on a quartet of players. Defender Jason Denayer (dead leg) and midfielders Lee Cattermole (Achilles), Darron Gibson and Jack Rodwell (both groin), will undergo late fitness tests before Moyes names his 18. Midfielder Sebastian Larsson sits out as he completes his three-match ban, while full-back Bryan Oviedo (hamstring) remains on the sidelines along with long-term absentees Paddy McNair and Duncan Watmore (both knee).

Provisional squad: Pickford, Mannone, Jones, Manquillo, Denayer, Love, O'Shea, Kone, Djilobodji, Lescott, Cattermole, Ndong, Gibson, Borini, Rodwell, Januzaj, Pienaar, Khazri, Honeyman, Defoe, Anichebe, Maja.

- BOURNEMOUTH

Bournemouth will be without midfielder Dan Gosling because of a calf problem. Lewis Cook could be drafted into the team after coming off the bench in last weekend's 4-0 win over Middlesbrough. On-loan Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is out for the season after suffering a fractured leg, while Andrew Surman, forward Callum Wilson, goalkeeper Adam Federici and defender Rhoys Wiggins all continue their recovery from knee injuries.

Provisional squad: Boruc, Daniels, Smith, Francis, S Cook, L Cook, Arter, Fraser, Pugh, King, Afobe, Allsop, Mings, Cargill, Gradel, Mousset, Stanislas, Ibe.

- WEST BROMWICH ALBION

West Brom will be without Matt Phillips and Hal Robson-Kanu. Both players pulled up with hamstring injuries in training on Tuesday and could also miss the trip to Burnley next weekend. Either James Morrison or James McClean will replace Phillips while Salomon Rondon will come in for Robson-Kanu up front, as Albion look to break a four-game duck without a goal.

Provisional squad: Foster, Myhill, Rose, Nyom, Dawson, Marc Wilson, Kane Wilson, McAuley, Evans, Brunt, Galloway, Yacob, Fletcher, Livermore, Morrison, Field, Harper, McClean, Chadli, Rondon, Leko.

- LEICESTER CITY

Leicester captain Wes Morgan will be assessed. Morgan missed the defeat at Arsenal in midweek with a hamstring injury. He trained on Thursday and it is hoped he will do so again on Friday, with manager Craig Shakespeare prepared to give the central defender as long as possible to prove his fitness. Striker Islam Slimani is expected to be available again having been kept out by a groin problem recently.

Provisional squad: Schmeichel, Hamer, Zieler, Simpson, Huth, Morgan, Wasilewski, Benalouane, Chilwell, Fuchs, Drinkwater, King, Amartey, Ndidi, Gray, Mahrez, Kapustka, Albrighton, Musa, Ulloa, Vardy, Okazaki Slimani.

- CRYSTAL PALACE

Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce will have to rejig his defence once again. The Eagles will be without Liverpool loanee Mamadou Sakho (knee) after he was taken off on a stretcher during the midweek defeat to Tottenham. Fellow centre-backs James Tomkins (leg) and Scott Dann (knee) are also sidelined, so Allardyce is likely to select Martin Kelly and Damien Delaney at the heart of his defence.

Provisional squad: Hennessey, Speroni, Ward, Kelly, Schlupp, Van Aanholt, Delaney, Fryers, Milivojevic, Cabaye, Flamini, McArthur, Zaha, Puncheon, Townsend, Benteke, Campbell, Chung-Yong, Ledley, Sako.

- BURNLEY

Joey Barton will come out of Burnley's starting lineup. The midfielder has been banned for 18 months by the Football Association for breaching betting regulations. Sam Vokes (hamstring) and Scott Arfield (knee) could both come back into Sean Dyche's squad, yet Ben Mee (shin) and Stephen Ward (knee) are doubts too, while Dean Marney (knee) is definitely out.

Provisional squad: Heaton, Robinson, Pope, Lowton, Keane, Mee, Long, Ward, Darikwa, Tarkowski, Barton, Flanagan, Defour, Boyd, Hendrick, Westwood, Arfield, Gudmundsson, Vokes, Gray, Agyei, Barnes.

- CHELSEA

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte can pick from a full strength squad. The Blues manager is expected to continue with his tried and tested regulars as his side edge ever close to the Premier League title. Provisional squad: Courtois, Begovic, Fabregas, Zouma, Alonso, Kante, Hazard, Loftus-Cheek, Moses, Pedro, Costa, Matic, Willian, Batshuayi, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Luiz, Eduardo, Aina, Ake.

- MIDDLESBROUGH

Middlesbrough have doubts over Daniel Ayala, Victor Valdes and Grant Leadbitter. Defender Ayala was withdrawn in the win over Sunderland in midweek having twisted his ankle and is rated as doubtful, as are goalkeeper Valdes (ribs) and midfielder Leadbitter (hamstring) - both of whom were not in the squad on Wednesday. Boro do have Gaston Ramirez available again following the suspension he served for his dismissal against Bournemouth.

- MANCHESTER CITY

Manchester City are likely to be without Claudio Bravo after the goalkeeper suffered a calf injury against Manchester United on Thursday. There are fears the Chilean may not play again this season, meaning a probable return for Willy Caballero. Uncertainty remains over playmaker David Silva (hamstring) and centre-back John Stones (leg) but right-back Bacary Sagna is fit again. Striker Gabriel Jesus, a late substitute against United after more than two months out with a broken foot, will hope to step up his comeback.

Dembele is struggling with an ankle injury ahead of the clash at White Hart Lane while Danny Rose is unlikely to feature, despite returning to training after three months out with a knee problem. Erik Lamela (hip) and Harry Winks (ankle) are both unavailable but goalkeeper Michel Vorm has recovered from a knee injury and is available again.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Lopez, Rose, Davies, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier, Wimmer, Walker, Trippier, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Sissoko, Onomah, Son, Janssen, Kane.

- ARSENAL

Fellow defender Shkodran Mustafi (thigh) is out for another two weeks while David Ospina (back), Lucas Perez (thigh) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) are all absent.

Provisional squad: Cech, Martinez, Macey, Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Gibbs, Maitland-Niles, Coquelin, Xhaka, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Walcott, Iwobi, Sanchez, Giroud, Welbeck.
