Chelsea boss Antonio Conte: Man City players get Pep Guardiola's ideas

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has said he believes Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola has made an outstanding start because he has players who find it easy to adapt to his ideas.

Guardiola has won all nine of his games since taking over at City, with his side sitting top of the Premier League table.

Conte, by contrast, has seen Chelsea pick up only one point from their last two Premier league matches, which have brought a draw at Swansea and a home defeat to Liverpool.

"I think that Manchester City they are playing similar football to what they played in the past," the Italian told reporters.

"You must see what type of tactical situation you find [on arrival at a new club]. The directors of football are Spanish and they bought a lot of players who are used to this idea of football and these tactics.

"I think it is a bit easier for his players to get into his ideas."

Conte, who moved to Stamford Bridge after leaving his post as Italy coach following Euro 2016, said he was not worried about the pressure of his job.

"When you trust your work, you are never afraid," he added. "I am doing my work and I continue to do my work in the same way that I did in the past, continuing as usual.

"I am sure that if I don't win tomorrow, if I don't win the next game, in the future I will win.

"I discussed about my job with the club before I arrived to sign, and before I signed I think that it is important to speak about what work the manager did in the past."
