This season will be the most difficult in history - Chelsea's Willian

Chelsea's Brazilian midfielder Willian feels that the 2016-17 Premier League season will be the most challenging in history due to the number of new world-class managers in England.

Along with his new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, Manchester United have brought in Jose Mourinho while Manchester City will bank on former Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola's expertise.

Together with Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp, Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino and Arsenal's Arsene Wenger, all six teams will be looking to wrestle the crown away from defending champions Leicester City.

"I think this season will be the most difficult in history, because there are so many managers," Willian said.

"Mourinho, Guardiola, Conte here and the others -- and I think it will be difficult for everyone.

"But we have a great team and we have to show that on the pitch."

Willian, 27, has signed a new four-year contract at Chelsea earlier this month, and is prepared to work with new signings Michy Matshuayi and N'Golo Kante, to bring silverware back to the club for as long as he is there.

"They [Batshuayi and Kante] bring a lot of quality for sure, they come to help us and I think -- if more players arrive -- those will come to help as well," added the Brazil international.

"I am really happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea,

"Now I am Chelsea forever."
