The many faces of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's super-animated manager

ESPN FC's Steve Nicol and company talk Liverpool as the club once again turn down Barcelona's bid for Philippe Coutinho.
The FC crew talk tactics for Liverpool should star play-maker Philippe Coutinho make a move to Barcelona this summer.

Liverpool fans rejoiced when the club announced that Jurgen Klopp had agreed to become manager following the promising but disappointing reign of Brendan Rodgers. Since he took over in October 2015, Klopp has tried to rebuild the Reds into an attacking, aggressive squad, and though the results haven't always been as expected, the entertainment level has always been high.

Much of that entertainment, of course, is on the sideline with Klopp himself. He's constantly buzzing around his technical area, whether imploring the crowd to make more noise or screaming instructions to his players. It's must-see TV, but ahead of the new season, we thought it smart to translate some of his more common expressions.

Let this be your guide to one of the most passionate managers around.

Fig. 1: Playful

The feeling you get when you have a 3-0 lead and Dejan Lovren looks like the second coming of Franz Beckenbauer.

Fig. 2: Grumpy

The feeling you get when you're losing 3-0 to Burnley/Hull/Burton Albion (delete where needed).

Fig. 3: Anxious

Why can't we defend against set pieces?

Fig. 4: Delirious joy

When Barcelona bid only €60 million for Philippe Coutinho. And then only €85 million.

Fig. 5: It's Friday!

You've won three games in a row, and your next game's against Arsenal.

Fig. 6: *@#*!

When you're forced to start Alberto Moreno in a big game, and the inevitable happens.

Fig. 7: Squad depth fury

Daniel Sturridge is injured. Again.

Fig. 8: Confused

How am I going to defend Simon Mignolet against the media this time?

Fig. 9: Suspicious

Jose Mourinho has said something nice about me.
