QPR's Les Ferdinand quashes reports West Brom's Tony Pulis could take over

QPR director of football Les Ferdinand has dismissed speculation that manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could be replaced by West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis.

Reports have suggested Pulis could be offered the opportunity to take over at the Championship side, who lost 6-0 at home to Newcastle on Tuesday, if he leaves West Brom.

Pulis, whose future with the Baggies has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, sat next to Ferdinand at the game.

But former QPR striker Ferdinand said: "Tony Pulis came to the game the other night, which is a normal thing for a manager to do when his team aren't playing. I saw him and sat next to him. That's it.

"The result on Tuesday was obviously unacceptable, but I can categorically say we are not looking to change manager and are not considering anyone else."

QPR are 14th in the Championship after what was their heaviest-ever home league defeat.
