Fulham fans angered by morning kickoff for FA Cup tie at Cardiff City

Fulham fans have hit out at a decision to move the club's FA Cup third round tie at Cardiff City to an 11.30 a.m. kick-off.

The match, played on Sunday Jan. 8, will be televised by BBC Wales -- but the decision to give it a morning start means many fans will face a challenge to get to Cardiff in time.

In a statement, the Fulham Supporters' Trust said BBC Wales had let down "ordinary fans."

"We were very disappointed with the decision to reschedule the FA Cup tie between Cardiff City and Fulham," the statement said.

"The FA Cup third round is one of the most momentous days in the footballing calendar.

"Picking a time of 11.30 a.m. is particularly insulting to the supporters, who are the lifeblood of the game.

"The train options leave Fulham fans with just one direct service that will arrive into Cardiff at 10.59 a.m."

The statement added that many fans of the home team "may have great difficulty in reaching the stadium from various locations across Wales due to the early kick-off time."

Fulham have offered to provide free coach travel for their supporters, with buses to the Welsh capital leaving London at 6.30 a.m.
