Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey starts Carabao Cup final vs. Manchester City

LONDON -- Aaron Ramsey was fit to start for Arsenal in Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Manchester City, with Arsene Wenger reverting to a back-three formation for the game at Wembley.

Ramsey was the big question mark for Arsenal after recovering from a groin injury but goes straight back into the starting lineup, alongside Granit Xhaka in midfield.

Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil also start, with Wenger opting for a back three that includes Calum Chambers alongside Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi.

City manager Pep Guardiola surprisingly left out Bernardo Silva at Wembley despite being without injured winger Raheem Sterling.

The City boss, who is looking for his first silverware with the club, has picked four midfielders in David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho with one likely to play in a wider role.

Sterling hoped to be back but misses out on the final after picking up a muscle strain in the Champions League victory over FC Basel a week-and-ago. The England international missed the FA Cup shock against Wigan Athletic and hasn't been able to shake off the problem in time.

Guardiola does at least have Gabriel Jesus back on the bench after being without the Brazilian striker with the last seven weeks because of knee ligament problems.

He sticks with cup goalkeeper Claudio Bravo after his penalty shootout heroics on the way to Wembley but in front of him there's a change with club captain Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi recalled to the centre of defence with £100 million pairing John Stones and Aymeric Laporte left out after playing in the FA Cup exit.

Danilo moves to left back in place of the suspended Fabian Delph while youngster Phil Foden wins a place on the bench.

Arsenal XI: Ospina; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Chambers, Monreal; Xhaka, Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil; Aubameyang

Manchester City XI: Bravo; Walker, Kompany, Otamendi, Danilo; Fernandinho, Silva, Gundogan; De Bruyne, Sane; Aguero
