Jamie Vardy withdraws from England squad to face Scotland and France

England striker Jamie Vardy has pulled out of the squad to face Scotland and France after picking up an injury in training, the Football Association has announced.

Leicester City star Vardy "has left the squad as a precaution after picking up a minor injury in training at St. George's Park on Tuesday," an FA statement said.

The statement added: "The striker won't play a part in either Saturday's World Cup qualifier in Scotland or Tuesday's friendly trip to France."

But it said England coach Gareth Southgate would not call up a replacement for the 30-year-old, with no players due to be added "at this time."
