Former England boss Roy Hodgson considering retirement - sources

Former England coach Roy Hodgson is weighing up whether to return to management or retire, sources close to the 69-year-old have told ESPN FC.

Hodgson is out of work after leaving his England role in the wake of the Euro 2016 round of 16 exit to Iceland.

The former Fulham and Liverpool manager has been on holiday since returning from France as he considers his options.

He has received several job offers this summer, and turned down a big-money offer to take charge of a Chinese Super League club days after quitting England.

However, sources have told ESPN FC that although Hodgson is interested in returning to management he will only go back for the right offer.

West Bromwich Albion were linked with a move to bring him back to The Hawthorns after reports last week that Tony Pulis could leave the club over their failure to land top transfer targets.

However, both Pulis and the club have denied the reports.

Hodgson has enjoyed a stellar managerial career, taking charge of 16 different teams in eight countries.
