England under-21s can cope without Marcus Rashford - Nathan Redmond

England under-21s forward Nathan Redmond has said he believes the side will cope without Marcus Rashford if he is promoted back to the senior squad.

Manchester United striker Rashford scored a hat trick as Norway were thumped 6-1 at Colchester on Tuesday.

Under-21s coach Gareth Southgate has said Rashford is unlikely to play in the European Under-21 Championship finals next summer.

Redmond said the United player "has done well so far" but added that "we can cope if he is not available.

"We have other strikers and players who can come in," he told reporters. "It is a very strong squad.

"If he comes away with us again it will be an added bonus. If not, we've got the players to deal with it."

He said Rashford's finishing skills could be compared to those of West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino or Tottenham star Harry Kane.

"His finishing is up there with some of the best I've seen for the under-21s," he added. "He is the same as Kane and Berahino."
