Everton's Brendan Galloway pulls out of England U21 squad through injury

Everton defender Brendan Galloway is among three players who have withdrawn through injury from the England under-21 squad to play United States and Norway.

Galloway, 19, had initially been selected by Gareth Southgate after starting at left-back in Everton's opening three games of the season in the absence of the injured Leighton Baines.

Goalkeeper Christian Walton, who is on loan at Bury from Brighton, and Hull's on-loan Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom will also not be joining up with Southgate's side for the double-header.

The Three Lions take on a United States under-23 team in a friendly at Preston North End's Deepdale on Thursday, before starting their European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign in Norway on Monday.
