Jonjo Shelvey set be recalled to England squad - sources

Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is set to win a recall to the England squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland, sources have told ESPN FC.

Shelvey has been in fine form for Swansea so far this season and he will be hoping to impress again in Sunday's home clash with Manchester United.

The former Liverpool and Charlton man is set to win a call-up from Roy Hodgson with the likes of Arsenal's Jack Wilshere and Liverpool duo Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana set to miss out through injury.

The 23-year-old won his only cap in a 5-0 World Cup qualifying win over San Marino in October 2012 and he could be in line to face the same opponents on September 5th.

There are not expected to be too many other surprises in Hodgson's squad barring injuries, but Leicester striker Jamie Vardy is in line to keep his place in the squad.

Vardy won his first call-up for the summer internationals against Republic of Ireland and Slovenia making his debut against Ireland in the goalless draw in Dublin.

The 28-year-old has scored two goals so far this season, including the equaliser against Bournemouth on Saturday and it appears he has done enough to keep his place in Hodgson's plans.
