England U21s to prepare for Euros with friendly against Belarus

England will round off their preparations for the European Under-21 Championship with a friendly against Belarus at Barnsley.

Oakwell will host the match on June 11. Three days later Gareth Southgate and his squad fly to the Czech Republic for the Euros.

Their first group game comes on June 18 when they face Portugal.

Southgate will name his squad for the tournament at a news conference at St George's Park next Wednesday.

A number of players with full England caps are expected to be named in the squad as the Football Association (FA) thinks it is vital for the country's best young players to have experience of tournament football.

The FA said the squad will meet in "early June." A definitive date is yet to be announced.
