John Terry has ruled out coming out of international retirement to represent England despite admitting to getting emotional when hearing the national anthem at Wembley on Sunday.

Terry captained Chelsea to Capital One Cup glory against Tottenham, scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 win that secured manager Jose Mourinho's first trophy since his return to the club.

Terry, 34, retired from international duty in 2012 but despite his recent form and the effect the national anthem had on him prior to the final, the centre-back has no plans to return to England duty.

"I have missed it, playing in these big stadiums and in these competitions and I'm delighted to get back to Wembley," Terry, who won 78 caps, told reporters.

"They started playing the national anthem before the game and I was going then."

Asked if he was considering an England return, Terry added: "No. It's the simple answer, I don't want to go into it right now.

"Being back at Wembley, the atmosphere, the stadium, it's one of the best I have played in, but it's never crossed my mind.

"I have drawn a line under it and the England squad can move on now."
