Marco Fabian hopeful of Eintracht Frankfurt's Europa League chances

Mexico international Marco Fabian wants to leave his mark at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The midfielder is looking forward to the DFB-Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund later this month and hopes to turn an "unforgettable" day into a "historic" one for the club.

Fabian, 27, has been one of the key players for Frankfurt this term. He has scored seven goals and set up a further four in his 22 Bundesliga appearances this term.

The Mexico international was left stranded on the sidelines with an injury when the club slowly lost a chance to join the European ranks earlier this year.

However, Die Adler still have a chance to end the season on a high should they beat favourites Borussia Dortmund in the cup final on May 27.

"It has a huge significance," Fabian said of Eintracht's first appearance in a cup final since 2006. "It was a long and difficult path to Berlin."

"It will be an unforgettable day already just because we are part of it. We want to turn it into a historic day. It's my big dream to bring the cup to Frankfurt."

With qualification for Europa League nearly impossible for Frankfurt through the league, Fabian will need to rest his hopes on the "50/50 chance" in the cup final to make sure he can fulfil his big wish this season.

He said: "My special dream is to qualify for a European competition. I would love to help Eintracht achieve it. I want to leave my traces at this club. The folks should later say that Marco Fabian was a key player when he played here."
