Rebrov named Dynamo Kiev manager

Ukrainian club Dynamo Kiev have announced the permanent appointment of Serhiy Rebrov as their new coach following the 3-1 victory over Zorya Luhansk in the final game of the season on Sunday.

Rebrov, 39, had been acting head coach since the resignation of Oleg Blokhin last month.

The former Ukraine international striker, who played in the Premier League with West Ham and Spurs, guided Dynamo -- for whom he played in two spells -- to their first Ukraine Cup victory in five years last week with a 2-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Rebrov played for Shakhtar before switching to Dynamo in 1992, and was the first player to score 100 goals in the Ukrainian league.

He must now attempt to improve the fortunes of a Dynamo side that finished the Premier League season outside the top three for the first time in their history.
