Hakim Ziyech headlines African stat leaders of the weekend

Ajax's Hakim Ziyech headlines our pick of the top African performers and stats leaders across the Eredivisie, Scottish Premiership, Turkish Super Lig, Belgian Pro League and EFL Championship this weekend.

Eredivisie

Top star: Hakim Ziyech (Morocco) -- Sparta Rotterdam 1-4 Ajax

The Morocco winger continued to take his game to new heights by netting a brace in Ajax's emphatic win in Rotterdam. This will surely be his last season in the Dutch top flight as he reiterated again after the game: "I also said last year: the competition [Eredivisie] is no longer really a challenge. It is up to me to be important and to get the most out of it."

4.8 - The average number of shots per game from Ziyech in the Eredivisie this season, the highest of any player.

3 - The number of assists recorded by Myron Boadu for AZ Alkmaar. Only Dusan Tadic (Ajax, 4) and Bryan Smeets (Sparta Rotterdam, 5) have laid on more goals so far in 2019-20.

86.7 - The pass completion percentage of Said Bakari (RKC Waalwijk), Africa's best passer of the ball in the Eredivisie so far this campaign.

Scottish Premiership

Top star: Marios Ogboe (Nigeria) - Hearts 2-2 Hamilton

A strong showing from the Nigerian frontman, whose selfless work allowed strike partner George Oakley the space to score two goals as Hamilton twice came from behind to claim a valuable point at Tynecastle Park.

0 - The number of African goal scorers in the Scottish Premiership thus far in 2019-20.

1 - The only assist from an African player in the Scottish Premiership season so far was recorded by South Africa's Keaghan Jacobs for Livingston.

2012 - The year in which an African player last scored in the 'Old Firm' derby: Sone Aluko netted the first goal in a 3-2 league win for Rangers over Celtic in March 2012.

Turkish Super Lig

Top star: Papiss Cisse (Senegal) - Malatyapsor 2-3 Alanyaspor

The decisive goal in Alanyaspor's weekend win at Malatyapsor kept up Cisse's fine record in the Turkish Super Lig: he now has 19 strikes in 29 appearances since joining the Alanya-based club in 2018.

38 - The percentage of Alanyaspor's goals scored by Cisse (he has scored three of their eight goals thus far). This is a higher proportional contribution to a team's overall goal tally than any other player in the league.

6.7 - The average number of aerial battles won per game by Galatasaray's Christian Luyindama, easily the best in the Super Lig (second on the list is Hakan Arslan with 5.3).

4 - The average number of key passes per game for Galatasaray's Sofiane Feghouli. Only Basaksehir's Irfan Can Kahveci (4.5) has a better average so far this season.

Belgium Pro League

Top star: Yohan Boli (Ivory Coast) - Eupen 0-2 Sint Truiden

A goal either side of half-time from Ivorian forward Yohan Boli saw Sint Truiden record their first away win of the season, defeating Eupen at the Stadion am Kehrweg to remain well clear of the relegation zone.

5 - The number of goals scored by each of Antwerp's Dieumerci Mbokani and Genk's Mbwana Samatta. The African pair are the co-leading scorers in the Belgian top flight thus far.

56 - The percentage of Genk's goals scored by Mbwana Samatta (he has scored five of their nine goals thus far). This is a higher proportional contribution to a team's overall goal tally than any other player in the Pro League.

7 - The number of Pro League goals scored by Africans this past weekend: Sami Allagui, Yohan Boli (2), Eric Ocansey, Idrissa Sylla, Simon Deli and Saido Berahino.

EFL Championship

Top star: Albert Adomah (Ghana) - Nottingham Forest 1-1 Preston North End

Nottingham Forest have put together a seven-match unbeaten run across all competitions, but it was very nearly ended by Preston this weekend. However, Ghana's Adomah came off the bench to equalise in the 79th minute and ensure the Reds maintain their momentum going into the international break.

61.5 - The shooting accuracy percentage of Middlesbrough's Britt Assombalonga, who has had 13 overall shots this season, with eight hitting the target (and three resulting in goals).

131 - The cumulative number of passes racked up by Swansea's Andre Ayew. His overall passing accuracy in the Championship this season stands at 78.6%.

2 - The number of assists recorded by Reading's Andy Yiadom despite a successful crossing percentage of just 9.1.
