Dinamo Moscow hit with transfer embargo over unpaid fees

The Russian Football Union has hit Dinamo Moscow with a transfer embargo over unpaid fees.

The RFU ruled on Thursday that Dinamo will not be allowed to register any new players until they clear debts related to four signings, including former Queens Park Rangers defender Christopher Samba and Russia midfielder Igor Denisov.

Dinamo have struggled off the pitch this year, with UEFA barring the club from the Europa League this season for overspending and breaking financial fair-play rules.

Following that UEFA sanction, the club's majority owner VTB Bank has begun to transfer shares to the Dinamo sports society, which originally founded the football team in 1923 to represent the Soviet police and security services.
