Sergei Ignashevich extends deal with CSKA Moscow

MOSCOW -- Russia's most-capped player, Sergei Ignashevich, has signed a one-year contract extension with CSKA Moscow in a bid to continue his career through to his home World Cup in two years.

Ignashevich, who turns 37 this month, has 120 appearances for Russia and played all three matches at Euro 2016 as Russia was eliminated in the group stage.

The new deal runs through to the end of the 2016-17 season, CSKA said in a statement.

Ignashevich has played 476 competitive fixtures for CSKA, and is likely to reach the 500 mark in the coming campaign. He has won five league titles with CSKA, alongside his longtime partner at centre-back Vasily Berezutsky.
