Crystal Palace's Yohan Cabaye enjoying working under Alan Pardew

Yohan Cabaye has said it is a joy to work under Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew again following his underwhelming spell in France with Paris Saint-Germain.

Cabaye, 30, worked with Pardew at Newcastle before making a £19 million move to PSG in January 2014.

The former Lille midfielder struggled to impose himself at the French champions but Palace offered him a route back to the Premier League last July.

After their league form unravelled from December onwards, the Eagles booked an FA Cup final meeting with Manchester United following a 2-1 win over Watford last month. Cabaye then missed a penalty as both he and Pardew suffered a 1-0 defeat on their return to Newcastle last weekend.

The France international says he is happy to be reunited with Pardew after struggling to make himself a regular starter under PSG coach Laurent Blanc.

"I was really pleased to play for him again," Cabaye told RTL. "I have nothing against Laurent Blanc, who's doing a super job in Paris, but I have a close relationship with my current manager. I've rarely had such confidence."

Cabaye has scored five goals in 32 league matches for Palace this season and he is relieved to be playing regularly again.

"It's a really positive year for me," he said. "What matters is to be on the pitch and to be able to express yourself every weekend. You give everything for your team. I'm very happy at the moment."
