Emmanuel Adebayor resisting Crystal Palace offer of 6-month deal - sources

Crystal Palace are ready to offer Emmanuel Adebayor a deal until the end of the season, but the Tottenham striker is holding out for a longer deal, sources have told ESPN FC.

Palace boss Alan Pardew revealed last week that Adebayor was a target as he searched to bring in a new striker to Selhurst Park.

Adebayor has been without a club since leaving Tottenham in September after having his contract cancelled early by mutual consent.

Palace have struggled for goals so far this season and Pardew is ready to bring in Adebayor to help solve their problems after a poor recent run of form, which has seen them fail to score in their last five Premier League games.

However, the move is being held up over the possible length of contract on offer to Adebayor.

The Eagles are preparing to offer Adebayor a six-month deal at Selhurst Park, but the move has hit a stumbling block with the former Arsenal and Manchester City player holding out for at least an 18-month deal.
