Chapecoense survivor Rafael Henzel on Copa Lib win: 'My heart is bursting'

Journalist Rafael Henzel said he was overcome with emotion after calling Chapecoense's Copa Libertadores 2-1 debut victory on Tuesday night over Venezuelan club Zulia in Maracaibo. 

Henzel, who was one of just six to survive the tragic plane crash that killed 71 players and personnel this past November when the club was en route to Colombia for the Copa Sudamerica final, called the match for Radio Oeste Capital in Chapeco after the team travelled on their first flight since the accident.

Chapecoense beat Zulia 2-1 in the Copa Libertadores as the Brazilian club took part in an overseas fixture for the first time since the devastating plane crash which killed most of their squad.

Only six of the 77 people who were travelling to Colombia survived the tragedy in November, including three Chapecoense players -- goalkeeper Jackson Follmann, defender Neto and winger Alan Ruschel.

In total 19 players and 24 other club members died as the plane crashed into a mountain near the city of Medellin.

Thousands of supporters paid their final respects to the Chapecoense players, coaches and staff.

Chapecoense arrived in Venezuela on Monday for their Copa Libertadores Group 7 game against Zulia after first international commercial flight since the plane crash in November which killed almost the entire Brazilian team and staff.

The Brazil club have signed 22 new players since the tragic crash and will make their Copa Libertadores debut against Zulia in Maracaibo on Tuesday.

Fernando Zampedri scored as Atletico Tucuman used kits borrowed from the Argentina U20 side after they arrived at their Copa Libertadores match without their luggage.

Atletico Tucuman on Tuesday beat El Nacional of Ecuador, 1-0, in the return leg of the second round of Copa Libertadores on Tuesday despite being more than an hour-and-a-half late for the kickoff in Quito and wearing kits and boots borrowed from the Argentina under-20 team.

The Argentina side saw their flight delayed nearly three hours in Guayaquil because their chartered flight to Quito did not have clearance to fly with passengers.
