Juan Cuadrado, MF, Chelsea & Colombia: #CopaRank: No. 19

Welcome to #CopaRank, a weeklong look at the top 25 players we expect to see at the Copa America Centenario. Over 50 ESPN FC experts and writers from around the globe voted, and we're rolling out the results right up to opening day, U.S. vs. Colombia, on Friday.

Why is Juan Cuadrado in the top 25?

A winger exclusively used on the right side, Cuadrado brings a dynamic, if somewhat awkward, game to the field for Juventus and Colombia. That awkwardness can sometimes work in his favor -- Cuadrado is difficult to defend, forcing opponents to foul him when they find themselves unable to figure out his next move.

After his transfer to Chelsea resulted in only a limited number of appearances, Juventus made a move for Cuadrado that has worked out well for both player and club. With the Italian giant, Cuadrado has gotten regular minutes in the league and in Europe, helping the Old Lady to a Serie A title in the process. Cuadrado's speed and technical ability are a constant threat that Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri has used to great effect.

What the experts say about Cuadrado:

"Cuadrado is an ultimate professional. He always gives his best. I'm sad but happy for him. Chelsea [is] a top club. Honestly, it was something that had to be done. As a coach I'm disappointed, but on a pragmatic level the fee is so high that it's worth it." -- Former Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella.

"People haven't yet seen Cuadrado. I saw him in Italy, at Udinese, when I was at Inter. I saw him play many times, and he is a guy I have high hopes for next season." -Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Career highlight:

Cuadrado tied for the lead in assists at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with four while helping Colombia to a quarterfinal appearance. The tournament was something of a coming-out party for Cuadrado alongside the likes of Real Madrid's James Rodriguez.

Stat of the season:

Cuadrado had an 86.4 pass percentage in 2015-16.

What's next for Cuadrado after the Copa America Centenario?

A tug-of-war between Allegri and new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte seems to be in the offing. Juventus naturally want to keep Cuadrado, but they may need to offer Chelsea something to keep the Blues from recalling the Colombian winger.
