53rd minute: U.S. in a major hole after that third goal. Hard for them to get any traction in attack. Zardes perhaps the best player for the U.S. going forward tonight.

43rd minute: Best look from the U.S. Zardes crosses into with Dempsey waiting but Argentina heads it away to safety. That was close.

41st minute: Corner kick from Argentina. Have to think that a third goal here before halftime would all but end the U.S.'s chances. U.S. clear corner kick temporarily, but Argentina still with ball in U.S. half.

39th minute: Still very little in attack from the U.S. Large majority of possession residing with Argentina.

35th minute: U.S. are in a hole now. It will be interesting to see how Klinsmann responds at halftime. Most important thing for U.S. though is to not concede again before the break.

32nd minute: GOAL ARGENTINA!! And it's MESSI! Messi takes the resulting free kick and curls an absolutely stunning left-footer into the top right corner of the net. United States 0-2 Argentina.

1st minute: Early danger from Argentina, but U.S. clears for the moment.

Anthems are done and we are ready to roll!

Teams are walking out.
