Sergio Aguero, FW, Manchester City & Argentina: #CopaRank: No. 3

Welcome to #CopaRank, a weeklong look at the top 25 players we expect to see at the Copa America Centenario. Over 50 ESPN FC experts and writers from around the globe voted, and we're rolling out the results right up to opening day, U.S. vs. Colombia, on Friday.

Why is Sergio Aguero in the top 25?

Sergio "Kun" Aguero is capable of scoring in every manner conceivable, and of doing so from multiple places on the field. The Man City and Argentina man has explosiveness in spades, but he backs up his quick first step and speed with an array of other weapons. A deadly finisher, Aguero has led City in goals in all competitions for all but one of his seasons at the Etihad, despite missing significant time through injury. Aguero is one of the smartest attackers on the planet, rarely failing to make the right run at the right time. He consistently makes his teammates better through incredible movement off the ball.

What the experts say about Aguero

"I've been able to play with Messi, but now I am able to play with Aguero. Aguero is a fantastic striker. If I have to choose one of them, it's quite difficult. Messi is one of the best in the world, definitely, but Aguero as well is strong, clever, he's fast." -- Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure

"He's unbelievable. He has that difference to make him a top striker. To me he is a mix of Henry and Messi." -- Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna

Career highlight:

Aguero has put in some truly remarkable performances for club and country -- including a five-goal day against Newcastle during the 2015-16 season -- but it's probably the goal he scored on the final day of the Premier League in 2012 to win City their first title that will go down as his most famous moment.

Stat of the season:

Aguero's 24 goals in the league were triple that of City's second-best goalscorer, Kelechi Iheanacho.

What next for Aguero after the Copa America Centenario?

With Pep Guardiola taking over at City this summer, rumors are swirling around the club. But Aguero isn't a name likely to leave -- instead, the Argentine is reportedly playing the role of recruiter for City's Guardiola overhaul.
