Claudio Bravo, GK, Barcelona & Chile: #CopaRank: No. 21

Welcome to #CopaRank, a weeklong look at the top 25 players we expect to see at the Copa America Centenario. Over 50 ESPN FC experts and writers from across the globe voted, and we're rolling out the results right up to opening day, U.S. vs. Colombia, on June 3.

Why is Claudio Bravo in the top 25?

Because there aren't many higher-profile goalkeeping jobs in the world than the one at Barcelona. While the Blaugrana outfield players get all of the attention, Bravo's steady work in net is a crucial part of their success. Barcelona did not meet their incredibly high standards this season thanks to their Champions League exit at the hands of Atletico Madrid, but no one is putting that at Bravo's feet. Chile's captain is an excellent shot-stopper, commands his box with confidence and is rarely guilty of the type of lapses in concentration that too often mark even elite goalkeepers.

What the experts say about Bravo:

"I think it was the best demonstration of footwork and passing I've ever seen from a keeper." -- England coach Roy Hodgson, 2013.

"He has been playing in the league for a long time and also with his national team. He is somebody who brings us calm, experience and leadership. Everyone takes notice." -- Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets.

Career highlight:

Bravo starred in net for Chile at last year's Copa America, while also captaining the side, giving up just four goals in the tournament and saving a penalty in the host country's penalty kick victory over Argentina. He was named best goalkeeper of the tournament for his efforts.

Stat of the season:

Bravo kept 16 clean sheets out of 32 starts this season for Barcelona.

What next for Bravo after the Copa America Centenario?

Despite rumors that Bravo could be a part of the elite goalkeeper merry-go-round, he's likely to stay at Barcelona next season. That means competing with Marc-Andre ter Stegen for the No. 1 shirt at Barcelona and platooning with the German keeper for league, cup and European games.
