Real Salt Lake completes comeback to beat Santa Tecla, Tigres tops Metapan

Olmes Garcia and Juan Manuel Martinez scored in a four-minute span in the second half to help Real Salt Lake beat Santa Tecla of El Salvador 2-1 on Thursday night in CONCACAF Champions League.

Real Salt Lake leads Group G with seven points and can wrap up a spot in the quarterfinals with a victory or tie Oct. 20 in the round-robin finale at home against Guatemala's Club Municipal.

Garcia tied it on a header in the 73rd minute, and Martinez chipped in the winner in the 77th. Irvin Herrera scored for Santa Tecla in the 61st minute.

Liga MX side Tigres were able to take three points from Metapan thanks to goals from Jose Francisco Torres and Ikechukwu Uche either side of halftime.

Josue Flores converted a penalty kick in the 35th minute to level the score until Uche's 64th-minute strike secured the win for Ricardo Ferretti's side.

Tigres are atop Group B with one match left to play against second-place Herediano.

Israel Silva hit the winner in the 90th minute for Honduran side CD Motagua as they topped 10-man Walter Ferreti 2-1 in the teams' Group E match. Raul Leguias levelled for the hosts in the 75th minute, but the result didn't hold.

Motagua took the lead right before halftime on an Erick Andino penalty. Ferreti's Medardo Martinez was sent off just before the penalty, leaving his team to play the second half down a man.
