          Sebastien Le Toux happy to join Colorado after trade from Philadelphia

          Even though a trade forced him out of Philadelphia, Sebastien Le Toux says he's excited to join the Colorado Rapids.

          The Union's dual signings of Alejandro Bedoya and Charlie Davies at the MLS transfer deadline caused a domino effect that saw Le Toux move to Colorado, ending his second stint with in Philly, where he had played since 2013.

          But the 32-year-old acknowledged that he can be a key addition for the Rapids, who have the best defense in MLS but have struggled to score goals.

          "It's a good trade for me and I'm very happy to be here. They have the expectations of a first-place team and I'm hoping to be a part of that," Le Toux told MLSsoccer.com.

          "I think I'm a team player and I've proved throughout my career that I can score goals and make assists. I can attack and defend; I'm not lazy. If I need to play different positions, I will."

          Le Toux, who has 56 goals and 55 assists in his MLS career, is used to moving around MLS as he joins his fifth club in nine years, but he said Philadelphia is his home.

          "It's a bit sad at first," Le Toux said. "I've played twice there and for six years [total]. I grew with the fan base over there. It's a great city and I will always come back. It's my second hometown outside of France probably. I know I will always be welcome in Philadelphia."

          With Le Toux's arrival Colorado shipped striker Luis Solignac to Chicago, but technical director Paul Bravo said the move made sense for the club, as Le Toux can play on the wing in addition to up top.

          "We were trying to figure out what would help us get better and an opportunity presented itself," Rapids technical director Paul Bravo said. "We needed to add some more depth on the wings and Sebastien's experience in this league and his goal scoring record, we liked that sort of production. He scores a goal or adds an assist in just about every other game."

          But while Le Toux was happy to arrive at Colorado, goalkeeper Zac MacMath, who lost his starting job to Tim Howard last month, was disappointed he wasn't able to leave the club.

          "There was a team interested but the Rapids denied that at the last second, which that's their right, I'm their player," MacMath told the Denver Post.
