Sam Morsy scored the first and made the second goal as Wigan beat Brentford 2-1 in the Sky Bet Championship - their third win in a row.

Morsy opened the scoring just before the half-hour with a fine strike, before his cross was turned into his own net by the unfortunate Harlee Dean to make it two on 32 minutes.

Substitute Jota ensured a tense finale when he pulled one back for the Bees inside the last five minutes, but Wigan deservedly took the spoils to move out of the bottom three.

Chris Martin atones for penalty miss with Fulham equaliser

Chris Martin netted a second-half equaliser for Fulham at QPR as the west London derby ended in a 1-1 draw.

Martin had an early penalty saved by Alex Smithies but atoned by scoring with 15 minutes remaining at Loftus Road.

Scott Malone's left-wing free-kick was headed out by Grant Hall as far as Tom Cairney, whose shot was diverted into the net by Martin from close range.

Ryan Manning's first goal for QPR had put them ahead after goalkeeper Smithies continued his remarkable penalty record by saving...

Same again for QPR?

QPR could be unchanged for the visit of west London rivals Fulham.

Rangers have no new injury worries after picking up a surprise 1-0 win at promotion-chasing Reading last Thursday.

Jack Robinson is still a couple of weeks away from returning due to a hamstring problem and fellow defender Steven Caulker remains sidelined by a hip injury.

On-loan Brighton winger Kazenga LuaLua made his Rangers debut as a late sub last week and should be involved again.

Ravel Morrison must seal Wigan loan by Jan. 27 to face Man United

Paul Mariner and Ross Dyer make their predictions for which teams will grab the top four spots in the Premier League.

Ravel Morrison has until the end of next week to earn the chance to face former club Manchester United by securing a loan move to Wigan Athletic from Lazio.

Morrison, 23, is currently training with Championship club Wigan after being told he has no future with Lazio.

Wigan manager Warren Joyce, previously Morrison's reserve team boss at United, has given the midfielder the opportunity to resurrect his career at the DW Stadium following his failure to make an impact in Serie A.

Nineteen-year-old Callum Connolly was the hero for Championship strugglers Wigan after he scored two headers on his debut to send Burton to a fourth successive home league defeat.

The Everton youngster only linked up with Warren Joyce's side ahead of the game and instantly repaid the faith of his manager by securing the Latics their first League win since the end of November with coolly taken headers either side of half time.

Having kept his side in the game twice during the first half with vital interventions,...
