Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Bogusz (58) celebrates his goal
Leeds United ended their tour of Australia with a win over Western Sydney Wanderers.

Leeds United will leave Australia with a victory after a scrappy 2-1 win against A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers at Bankwest Stadium on Saturday.

The Championship side lost 4-0 on Wednesday night to Manchester United in Perth, and only just secured a win in Sydney after an eleventh-hour goal from Pablo Hernandez.

In what was the Wanderers' first preseason fixture, they were gritty in their performance against a Leeds side that went close to a return to the English Premier League for the upcoming...

Sydney FC sign ex-Wanderer Alex Baumjohann

New Melbourne City coach Erick Mombaerts says he will bring an attractive style of play to the club.

Sydney FC coach Steve Corica and new signing Alexander Baumjohann agree the German midfielder is a perfect fit for the Sky Blues front-four after he moved across town on a two-year deal.

Baumjohann was released by Western Sydney Wanderers at the end of the last A-League season after making 20 appearances and scoring three goals.

While Australian players have played for both Sydney clubs, 32-year-old Baumjohann is the first major import to have signed for both.

He's the defending champions' second...

FFA Cup: Fowler to make coaching debut vs. Sydney FC

New Melbourne City coach Erick Mombaerts says he will bring an attractive style of play to the club.

The first competitive match of Robbie Fowler's Brisbane Roar reign will be an FFA Cup clash away at A-League champions Sydney FC.

The Liverpool legend, who is embarking on the first full-time head coaching role of his storied career, will take the Roar to face Steve Corica's Sky Blues in a round-of-32 clash after the pair were drawn together on Wednesday.

It will be Fowler's first big challenge at the helm of the new-look Roar who have shipped out 16 players following their disastrous 2018-19 A-League...

Pirmin Schwegler joins Western Sydney Wanderers

The Western Sydney Wanderers have signed vastly experienced Switzerland midfielder Pirmin Schwegler for the next A-League season.

The 32-year old has accumulated well over 300 games in Germany and Switzerland.

He played 14 times for the Swiss national side between 2009 and 2014 and was also in their 2010 World Cup squad, but didn't make an appearance in the tournament.

He joins from Hannover 96, who have been relegated from the Bundesliga, the top division of German football.

Labinot Haliti returns to the Western Sydney Wanderers

Western Sydney foundation player Labinot Haliti plans on bringing passion and energy to the A-League club after his return to the Wanderers as an assistant coach.

Forward Haliti -- who started in both legs of the Wanderers' 2014 AFC Champions League final success and played in every match of that successful campaign -- has been head coach of the Newcastle's Y-League team since November 2018.

He spent three seasons with the Wanderers before he joined the Jets, where he finished his playing career.
