HUDDERSFIELD, England -- Sir Alex Ferguson's presence in the stands for West Ham's 4-1 victory over Huddersfield Town on Saturday offered a reminder of happier times for Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez.

It was Ferguson who thrust Hernandez into the world spotlight by bringing him from Liga MX club Chivas to Manchester United in a deal done ahead of the 2010 World Cup. But those halcyon days of Hernandez establishing himself in the Premier League over the 2010-11 season seemed a distant...

Joe Hart is forced to wear a cap thrown to him by a supporter.

If you played youth football as a kid, you'll know the struggle West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart faced in the FA Cup third-round clash at Shrewsbury on Saturday.

With the harsh winter sunlight beaming into his face, and probably burning his eyeballs, Hart was thrown a cap by one generous West Ham fan to protect his vision.

We weren't so sure on the new look, though, as we missed his lovely dandruff-free hair. Unless Hart decides to start flogging hats instead, it's a no from us.

1. Wonder strikes highlight dour draw

Rarely can there have been a game with two goals whose quality was so disproportionate to the general standard of play. A grim, drizzly night in front of a Wembley with huge swathes of empty seats saw Tottenham and West Ham draw 1-1, a generally turgid spectacle lit up by two utterly brilliant goals.

Pedro Obiang opened the scoring with an unstoppable...

Welbeck steers Arsenal past West Ham, into Carabao Cup semifinal

Danny Welbeck's first-half goal was enough for Arsenal to fend off West Ham and reach the Carabao Cup semifinals.

LONDON -- Three thoughts on Arsenal's 1-0 win vs. West Ham in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal.

1. Gunners reach the last four

Danny Welbeck's scrappy first-half goal kept alive Arsene Wenger's hopes of winning this competition for the first time, even though this performance was hardly that of title-winners.

Welbeck bundled home from close range in the 42nd minute with one of just two quality chances the Gunners created, in what was a dull affair between two sides playing each other for the second...
