Three Copa Libertadores matches you can't miss this week

Atletico Mineiro will welcome Santa Fe to their formidable home ground on Thursday.

True, there were a couple of games played last Wednesday. Other than that, though, the Copa Libertadores went on holiday for two weeks while attention was focused on the international game. But now South America's premier club competition is back, and the action resumes at a fascinating stage.

Most of the 32 teams have only two of their group games still to play. Eight teams have three matches left.

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera coy on William Yarbrough future

The ESPN FC panel discuss the recent reports of Julian Green becoming frustrated with his time on loan at Hamburg, while Arsenal's youth product, Gedion Zelalem may be right on track for a USMNT call-up.
ESPN FC's Ross Dyer and Craig Burley discuss Julian Green's future and how he should conduct himself at Hamburg.

Mexico national team coach Miguel Herrera on Wednesday opened the door for a U.S. call-up of Leon goalkeeper William Yarbrough, saying that El Tri has opted to add Pumas forward Eduardo Herrera to its roster for friendlies on March 28 and 31 against Ecuador and Paraguay, respectively.

Guillermo Vazquez led Pumas to their last Mexican league title in 2011.

LOS ANGELES - The prodigal son in search of prodigies. Memo Vázquez is returning to the Pumas. Reconciliation is the slogan, after a previous, bitter break-up.

Let's remind ourselves: Vázquez abandoned Pumas because they were not renewing his contract and were stingy in the investments in the search for reinforcements.

Club vice-president Alberto García Aspe had his wallet full and his common sense empty. He spent, he squandered -- because he had never invested -- a fortune in compensating...

Chivas, Pumas and Cruz Azul against the wall

LOS ANGELES -- To the deep footballing crisis of Chivas, Pumas and Cruz Azul, you have to add another inevitable factor: that its fierce sporting rival, América, has started the tournament perfectly.

Some say that it is the lack of goals. Others say that it is a matter of character and dedication and there are those that admit point-blank that it is a matter of quality. Everybody has a point of view, but in the end nobody has the precision to say how Chivas, Pumas and Cruz Azul can leave behind...
