Juventus have received good news ahead of Sunday's game at Udinese with Arturo Vidal's knee injury not serious.

The Chilean midfielder sustained a sprain on his right knee during his team's 1-0 triumph at Parma in Wednesday's quarter-final of the Coppa Italia.

Vidal underwent tests this week which ruled out any ligament damage although the player is expected to miss the trip to Udine.

Without Vidal, the Bianconeri hope to end a good week on a high note at the Friuli stadium.

AC Milan's Philippe Mexes handed four-game ban after Lazio red card

Gabriele Marcotti discusses whether Silvio Berlusconi will attempt to sell his beloved AC Milan in the near future.

AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes has been banned for four matches for the red card he picked up in Saturday evening's 3-1 defeat against Lazio.

Mexes, 32, was given his marching orders for violent conduct, "grasping an opposition player [Stefano Mauri] by the neck and dragging him to the ground, while repeating the same action after being sent off," according to a statement by the Lega Serie A's disciplinary committee.

It was the 16th red card of the former Roma defender's career, taking his total...

Udinese picked up their first win in six attempts to climb above the two Milanese teams into eighth place in Serie A, despite ending Monday night's 2-1 win over Empoli with 10 men.

Antonio Di Natale put Andrea Stramaccioni's men in front after 19 minutes, but Riccardo Saponara levelled from the spot with his first goal of the season for Empoli.

Silvan Widmer earned Udinese the points with what appeared to be a cross before Panagiotis Kone was given his marching orders, but the guests held on to all...

Gonzalo Higuain scored the winning penalty as Napoli saw off Udinese.

Napoli survived a thrilling clash with Udinese in order to live to fight another day in the defence of their Coppa Italia crowd.

Rafa Benitez's men won through 5-4 on penalties after being locked at 1-1 after 90 minutes and then 2-2 following extra-time.

Cyril Thereau put Udinese ahead in the 58th minute but Jorginho equalised seven minutes later and Napoli gained the advantage when Silvan Widmer was sent off 60 seconds later.

Udinese dug in for extra time, though, and even when Marek Hamsik's penalty...

Cagliari left it late to claim a point from their trip to Udinese as they snatched a 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Joao Pedro gave Gianfranco Zola's men the lead just before half-time, but two goals in as many minutes from Allan and Thomas Heurtaux gave Udinese the lead.

They were unable to defend it to the end of the 90 minutes, though, with Danilo Avelar scoring a penalty in stoppage time to earn Cagliari a point.

Zola welcomed back those players he had left out of a midweek Coppa Italia defeat, which he later...
