Ajax sign Morocco international Hakim Ziyech from FC Twente for €11m

Ajax have announced the signing of attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech from FC Twente.

Hakim Ziyech has signed a five-year deal to join Ajax from Twente for a fee in the region of €11 million.

Ziyech, 23, is a Morocco international who was reported to be on the radars of Everton, Arsenal and West Ham this summer.

But the attacking midfielder told Ajax's official website he decided he wanted to remain in the Netherlands and pursue his goal of winning the Eredivisie title with the 33-time Dutch champions.

Twente win appeal to stay in Eredivisie, avoid relegation over finances

Twente have succesfully appealed against relegation from the Eredivisie.

FC Twente will play in the Dutch top-flight Eredivisie next season after all, following a successful appeal against a decision to relegate the club as punishment for financial irregularities.

An independent appeals panel on Friday reversed the decision taken last month by the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) licensing commission to relegate the 2010 Eredivisie champions.

Instead, Twente have been fined €180,000.

Twente set to be relegated for misleading officials about finances

FC Twente are set to be relegated to the Dutch second division.

The Dutch football association's licensing commission plans to relegate FC Twente to the second tier to punish the 2010 Eredivisie champions for "repeatedly and deliberately misleading" football authorities and other clubs about their finances.

A Dutch professional players' council has two weeks to consider the proposal and issue a non-binding opinion before the decision is finalized.

Twente, who finished 13th in the Eredivisie last season, can appeal.
