CAF Champions League preview: Clash of the Titans

For the first time in the history of the CAF Champions League, the semifinal line-up will consist of the previous four winners, as Mamelodi Sundowns meet Wydad Casablanca, and Tout Puissant Mazembe and Esperance de Tunis clash in a pair of engrossing first legs.

Congolese giants Mazembe have had to wait the longest to get their hands on Africa's grandest club prize again, but are the most successful side still standing, having conquered the continent on five occasions since 1967.

Afcon qualifying: Lesser lights take centre stage on final weekend

When the Confederation of African Football ratified an expansion to the Africa Cup of Nations in July 2017, introducing eight more teams to the biennial competition, the dynamic of the qualifying program was always going to change.

Morocco drew a line under an encouraging 2018 with a 1-0 victory away in Tunisia on Tuesday evening.

Youssef En-Nesyri scored the only goal of the game in the 41st minute - the sixth strike of his international career - from close range after Medhi Benatia's free kick bounced back off the post and into his path.

Tunisia started the better of the two teams in an ill-tempered affair on a poor pitch, although En-Nesyri had the better of the first-half chances.

The hosts pressed intensely as they sought...
