Empoli's long wait for a second away win of the Serie A season came to an end with a 1-0 victory at Torino on Wednesday afternoon.

An own goal from Torino goalkeeper Daniele Padelli in the third minute was enough to hand Empoli three points that ensures the Tuscan outfit will compete in the top flight again next season.

Empoli were unlucky not to extend their lead before the interval with Matias Vecino and Riccardo Saponara's attempts kept out by the woodwork.

Matteo Darmian will only leave Torino if 'crazy' offer comes in - president

Torino ended a 20-year derby drought with a 2-1 victory over Juventus, while AS Roma suffered another defeat in Serie A with a 2-1 loss at Inter Milan.

Darmian, 25, who scored the winner in the 2-1 Turin derby victory over Juventus at the weekend, is reported to be a target for clubs including Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Last year, Italy fans voted the full-back the best player in the national team -- and it is thought his club would not accept less than €15 million for him.

Torino president Urbano Cairo, who saw Ciro...

Torino fans face trouble after throwing cherry bomb at Juventus coach

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri explains his anger with conceding goals in their 2-1 defeat against city rivals Torino.

The Italian sports authorities have vowed to come down hard on the troublemakers who marred the Turin derby that Udinese won 2-1 against Juventus on Sunday.

Torino fans damaged the Juventus coach as it approached the stadium while a cherry bomb thrown by Juve fans injured 10 people -- two seriously -- when it exploded in the home fans' section.

"I can't take this anymore; I'm sick of it," said Giovanni Malago, president of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), in quotes reported by La Gazzetta dello...
