Ivory Coast progressed into the semifinals of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations after beating Togo 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out after the match ended 0-0 at the Stade Lat Dior in Thies, Senegal, on Saturday.

The Elephants started strong and came close to scoring in the 11th minute when Laurent Magbi let loose with a low 20-yard pile driver just past the right-hand post.

Togo created their first significant chance in 17th minute when some good build-up play resulted in Messan Toudji finding space 14-yards...

Nigeria have lost twice in seven days to Togo after going down 2-1 in the third match of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations at the Stade Lat Dior in Thies, Senegal on Sunday.

The Nigerians dominated the opening 15 minutes but let themselves down in the final third with several passes going astray. And they were made to pay for their lacklustre attack in the 16th minute when Togo took the lead.

Wafu Cup of Nations: Six 'Who's that guy?!' players to watch

Morocco's Football Federation had planned to send the country's...

The Kaizer Chiefs forward picked up a pelvic injury in the club's 2-1 win away to Cape Town City last week, and Chiefs' front office is not being overly verbose about it: "He has had a scan done and it is unclear how long he needs to recover at this stage."

While Chiefs may not worry too much about Billiat's impending national match,...

WAFU Cup draw sets up Nigeria v Togo grudge match

Eight years after surrendering their WAFU Cup of Nations title in a bewildering upset at home to Togo, Nigeria will get a chance to exact some measure of revenge against Les Aigles.

The teams were drawn to face each other early in this year's tournament, in a revised format that will see teams face each other in a high stakes knockout schedule.

Wednesday's draw in Dakar, Senegal, decided the first eight fixtures for the first phase of knockout matches, with the winners of those matches progressing...
