Paulo Sousa wants his team to take their ACL form into domestic competition.

Paulo Sousa is hoping his Tianjin Quanjian players can carry their AFC Champions League form into the Chinese Super League after a 3-2 win over Japan's Kashiwa Reysol confirmed their place in the round of 16.

Tianjin face Guangzhou Evergrande in an all-Chinese clash next month after finishing second in Group E behind two-time champions Jeonbuk Motors of South Korea, who beat Hong Kong's Kitchee 3-0 to seal top spot and set up a meeting with Thailand's Buriram United.

"This is our debut season in...

Shanghai SIPG win to maintain perfect start to 2018 Chinese Super League

Shanghai SIPG maintained their perfect start to the 2018 Chinese Super League campaign on Friday with a 2-1 win over Chongqing Lifan.

Wu Lei and Yu Hai scored after Yang Ke had given Chongqing the lead as SIPG picked up their fourth win in a row.

"It was a difficult game," said SIPG boss Vitor Pereira. "We could have scored more goals but after the return of the national team players we did not have the opportunity to work together.

"We didn't have the opportunity to practice technical issues. But...

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has said he will only talk about the possibility of Andres Iniesta moving to China when there's an offer on the table.

Diario Sport reported on Friday that Iniesta could walk away from Barca in "one of the biggest deals of the summer" after receiving an offer from Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian worth €35 million a season.

Iniesta, who turns 34 in May, signed a lifetime contract at Camp Nou earlier this season but the terms of that deal allow him...

SIPG, Tianjin open AFC Champions League group stage with victories

Elkeson helped Shanghai SIPG defeat Kawasaki Frontale in their opening Champions League game.

Chinese Super League sides Shanghai SIPG and Tianjin Quanjian made winning starts to their Asian Champions League campaigns on Tuesday evening.

Vitor Pereira's SIPG side had a solitary goal from Brazilian striker Elkeson to thank for their 1-0 win over Japanese champions Kawasaki Frontale as the big-spending side from Shanghai seek to build on last season's run to the semifinals.

Elkeson's goal came in the 23rd minute when he controlled the ball on his chest on the edge of the area before firing...

Tianjin Quanjian and Shanghai SIPG advance to ACL group phase

Brazilians Hulk and Oscar combined to give Shanghai SIPG the lead away at Beijing Guoan.

Chinese Super League duo Tianjin Quanjian and Shanghai SIPG secured their places in the group phase of the Asian Champions League on Tuesday evening, seeing off Ceres Negros of the Philippines and Thailand's Chiangrai United respectively.

Tianjin, under new coach Paulo Sousa, had few problems in front of their own fans as a brace from Anthony Modeste ensured last season's third place finishers advanced to the tournament proper.

"It is great inspiration for Chinese football because there will be...
