Canberra Olympic coach Frank Cachia
Head coach Frank Cachia is confident his Canberra Olympic side can give Sydney FC a run for their money in the FFA Cup semifinal.

Canberra Olympic reckon they know a way to beat A-League giants Sydney FC for a spot in the FFA Cup final.

"The best chance we've got is if they turn up to the wrong ground or on the wrong night," laughed coach Frank Cachia.

"Maybe we can do something on Facebook that says we're playing on a Wednesday and we turn up on a Tuesday."

Olympic booked a semifinal date next month with the Sky Blues in the nation's capital with a last-gasp 1-0 win over Victorian outfit Green Gully at Deakin Stadium on Tuesday...

Sydney FC
Sydney FC are hoping the academy players will make the grade to play in the A-League one day.

There's something in the water at Sydney FC's academy, or it could be the nous of youth coach Rob Stanton.

Since its launch in February, the academy has returned impressive results on the club's steep investment to feed the A-League squad with home-grown talent.

Key in its recruitment and execution has been Stanton, the man who's already taken his youth teams to a startling seven trophies and been named NPL 2 coach of the year for his efforts.

The Sky Blues completed the remarkable feat last weekend...

Ex-Sydney FC star Naumoff queries
A-League's heart screening process

Chris Naumoff made 44 appearances for Sydney FC during his time at the club.

Former Sydney FC winger Chris Naumoff has alleged the A-League club may have known about a heart condition that forced him into retirement at the age of 21.

After three seasons with the Sky Blues, Naumoff -- a former Young Socceroos and Olyroos representative -- penned a dream three-year deal in June with Spanish second division side Numancia.

However, the move was scrapped after a routine medical examination revealed he suffers from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a genetic disease which can trigger...
