Shayon Harrison scored his first goal in the A-League to help Melbourne City to a 2-0 win at the Leichhardt Oval.

Shayon Harrison helped solidify Melbourne City's top-six position after "a bit of stick" from his coach at half-time, as the Victorian club won 2-0 against Sydney FC on Sunday.

England youth international Harrison, who made one senior appearance for Tottenham Hotspur, notched his first A-League goal in his fifth game and then watched another shot deflect in off Sydney's Paulo Retre for City's second.

A late goal left Sydney FC still winless in AFC Champions League matches against Japanese opposition, with Kawasaki Frontale securing a 1-0 home victory over the Sky Blues on Wednesday.

Substitute Manabu Saito pounced on a miscued 83rd-minute clearance to squeeze a shot past Sydney goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne.

Kawasaki created far more chances, especially in the second half,...

Melbourne City blow two goal lead late, settle for draw versus Glory
Koutroumbis and Petratos score as Jets beat Melbourne Victory on the road.

The search for more playing time has prompted Sydney FC defender Aaron Calver to sign for new A-League club Western United.

The Victorian club, which will join the competition next season, on Tuesday announced the 23-year old defender had signed a two-year contract.

Calver, who will play out the season with Sydney, has made 44 A-League appearances for the club, since making his debut as a 16-year-old back in 2012.

The strong wind was the only winner as Sydney FC and South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai slugged out a 0-0 draw in Wednesday's Asian Champions League clash at Sydney's Jubilee Oval.

Sydney created most of the chances in a game attended by just 4,039 spectators, but struggled to get shots on target, especially kicking into the strong breeze in the second half.

Visiting goalkeeper Oh Seong-Hoon saved strong efforts from Adam Le Fondre early in the game and from Anthony Caceres just after half-time, but had...
