Swansea departure could suit Andre Ayew and Francesco Guidolin

Andre Ayew has been linked with an exit from Swansea.

Last January's rumours that Sunderland were ready to offer Swansea £12 million for Andre Ayew seemed far-fetched at the time. Both clubs were fighting to avoid relegation and there seemed little sense in Swansea strengthening a relegation rival's cause by giving up one of their best players.

Of course, an argument could be made that Swansea did precisely that in the same window by selling Jonjo Shelvey to Newcastle for the same amount of money. That Newcastle were eventually relegated and Shelvey...

Lille sign Eder from Swansea City on permanent deal

Eder joined Lille on loan in February.

Portugal international Eder has made his move from Swansea to Lille permanent, signing a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.

Eder, 28, was allowed to join Lille on loan in February having made just two Premier League starts for the Swans after joining them from Braga in July for a reported £5 million.

The striker was much more effective in France, scoring six goals and making four more in 13 league matches as his side climbed from 15th to fifth in Ligue 1 following his arrival.

The 2-1 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates on March. 2 was a key fixture in Swansea's revival and eventual...

Amat and Britton are Swansea's best players but Guidolin is the real star

Manchester City did just enough to secure a spot in the Champions League qualification stage for next season.
Swansea manager Franco Guidolin expresses his love for the atmosphere at the club and their massive draw with Man City.
Andre Ayew finished as Swansea's leading goalscorer with 12 goals this season.

Swansea held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the Liberty Stadium and, with a difficult season now over, have good reason to be optimistic about the future.

In Francesco Guidolin, who recently signed a two-year contract extension with the club, the Swans have arguably their most tactically-sophisticated manager in the Premier League era.

The Italian's side routinely show the kind of tactical nuance that was absent from Garry Monk or Brendan Rodgers' versions of the team, and the prospect of a full...

Premier League season in a sentence as Leicester crowned champions

ESPN FC's Steve Nicol reflects on the Premier League season.

It was another memorable Premier League campaign. Our ESPN FC bloggers take a quick look at how their team fared in the 2015-16 season.

LEICESTER: Leicester ended 2015-16 with a fairytale Premier League title, the PFA player of the year, a Premier League scoring record and Champions League football -- so not bad, then! -- Ben Jacobs

ARSENAL: Not good enough to sustain a title challenge but not bad enough to drop out of the top four -- stop me if you think you've heard this one before. --
